JR Kansai Hokuriku Area Pass

We bought the 7 days rail pass for Kansai Hokuriku area. When we arrive at Kansai Airport, we used this pass to take a train from osaka airport to fukui . Of course you have to change train a few times but it is manageable for us even though we had three big luggage. We also took shinkansen from Fukui to Toyama and shin osaka to okayama. If you travel s lot within these 7 days, this pass is for you.however, if for only one trip, it is not worth it..

it is easy to use and please be aware that you need to take the ticket when you arrive Japan, also, it is not essential for you to reserve your seats when you buy at klook as JR west does not support such MCO.

super useful. used it get from Nozawaonsen to Kyoto, Kyoto to Osaka, and 5 day trips out to Amanohashidate & Ine, Nara & Uji, Kobe, Okayama & Kurashiki, Wakayama. you can only use the green ticket to reserve seats for 6 times, 7th time onwards you gotta queue at the physical ticket office (JR WEST ONLY) but they were all very helpful.

Redemption of tickets was easy, we went straight to the counter at Shin-Takaoka Station to exchange as queue was short, the JR staff was very accommodating. We have exchanged reserved seats to accommodate our large baggage. Staying at hotel near to JR station makes the JR pass worthy. It allows unlimited rides for JR transportation from Kanazawa to Kyoto and within Kansai area (especially round trips). It is easy to use and we could just travel from one place to another by using this JR pass. Do note that the reserved seats train requires you to exchange the tickets either at the machine or the ticketing counter beforehand. The pass is not applicable to subways and other train companies. It is advisable to plan well for the trip and calculate the fare route for each journey before purchasing the pass. As our trip includes trip from shin takaoka to Kanazawa (round trips), Kanazawa to Kyoto, Kyoto to Amanohashidate (round trips), Kyoto to Kobe, Osaka and Uji (round trips), we took a trip Kyoto to maibara to get to as near to nagoya. the actual fare price is way beyond the price of this pass. We also experienced the special train from Amanohashidate Station to Nishimaizuru by using this pass. Recommended for those who are travelling to multiple cities within the 7 days or doing frequent round trips. *However, the pass purchased via klook is non-refundable. Additionally, reviews must be submitted within one month of the purchase date, not the activation date.

TOTALLY WORTH IT. i purchased this pass and was able to use it during my Kanazawa, Kyoto, Osaka trip. I saved a lot since I already got the ROI cost of the pass when I book my Osaka-Kyoto-Tsuruga-Kanazawa (one way). Do the math and I already save at least 50% of the normal fare by using this pass. hassle-free in picking up the ticket using the ticket vending machines and even reserving one :)

Booking and traveling were smooth throughout the trip. I traveled from Chiang Mai-Kansai Airport. The machine arrived before time. There is time to arrange money exchange from the kiosk, drop off luggage, and exchange passes at the JR Ticket Ofiice when it's not crowded. It takes about half an hour for every step. Travel to every point conveniently. Please take good care of your password. Because of its size, it is ready to disappear all the time.

In Klook's information, it says that it is not possible to reserve seats on some Limited Express trains, but when you actually use them, you can reserve them. Look at the updated information from the JR West website for sure. Booking with Klook is easy. Go to the airport. Kansai: Go to JR station and pick up from the green kiosk.

Collection for the pass was smooth and you will receive this rectangular pass which you can use to book seats using jr green machine. In area without machine, you will have to book through the train station counter

Claiming of ticket was easy. Just scan the qr code at ticket machine at the station. was able to use the ticket anytime all throughout my 7 days super worth it. thank you!

JR pass is the best tool for every independent traveler in Japan. This time I used the Kansai & Hokuriku Area Rail Pass to chase cherry blossoms. The blooming schedule of cherry blossoms is too difficult to grasp, and the flexibility of the pass allows you to adjust your itinerary at any time. This time I went all the way from Shikoku to Fukui, Kanazawa, and Toyama to enjoy the cherry blossoms. It was very easy to use and very cost-effective. When planning the trip, there is no need to calculate the ticket separately, making independent travel very convenient. You can take the train when you see it.
