An absolute must! My guide Lee explained the history and importance of this activity. He used to be a monk and was very helpful in answering my questions. He instructed me every step of the way. I was lucky to be doing this activity alone so I could ask questions. They brought the offering for the monk, as well as provided towels and a sarong for the activity.

What To Expect

Water Blessings are a traditional Cambodian practice that date back to ancient times. You'll be driven to an ancient pagoda, nestled in the beautiful countryside outside Siem Reap where you'll have a choice of two rituals. The first is almost a taster: a blessing accompanied by a light sprinkling of water. The second is the real deal: you'll be completely covered in water blessed by the monks (don't worry, you'll get a sarong to change into for the experience), whilst the monks chant in unison. At the end of your blessing, you'll receive a special red tie that signifies the ritual that was performed. This is a unique experience for individuals but can also be a special way for newly weds to celebrate their union as it's said that the blessing brings peace and happiness.

Was able to know more about a community of monks. The tour guide explained the structures on the compound and some of the beliefs of Buddhism and Hinduism. Tour was concluded with the water blessing by a monk. Tour guide has been guiding thoughout the ceremony on what to do and had prepared offering for the monk as part of the package. Thank you!

Wonderful experience to understand Buddhist practice in Cambodia and receive blessings at the same time! Pick up from hotel was on time and Lee did a great job explaining the procedures and significance of each step. The temple where the blessing was held was serene and peaceful. The whole activity to and fro was completed in an hour.

It was a right decision for my friends and I to take this activity on our first day in Siem Reap. Always good to receive blessings when you come to a foreign country the first time. It was a life changing experience. Our tour guide, Lee provided a lot of insights about the activity and took us on a step by step process with the monk. He also gave us tips on where else to go and dine in order to enjoy our stay in Siem Reap more. This tour should be included on everyone's list when coming to Siem Reap. Akun, Klook!

I really liked this experience. The water blessing dis not last for an hour, the guide picked me up on time and he was very kind to explain the importance of the tradition in Cambodian Buddhist culture and he answered all the things I asked him. He also spoke good english and was very friendly. I also liked that this tour supports an NGO named HUSK that taked care of the locals. Definitely a must-try when you visit Siem Reap.

Not many do this but i think It’s a one of a kind experience being blessed by the monk while he chant and pours water on you. It’s a traditional Cambodian blessing and doesnt matter what religion you are. The tourguide was great and he takes great pictures as well!
