What To Expect

Water Blessings are a traditional Cambodian practice that date back to ancient times. You'll be driven to an ancient pagoda, nestled in the beautiful countryside outside Siem Reap where you'll have a choice of two rituals. The first is almost a taster: a blessing accompanied by a light sprinkling of water. The second is the real deal: you'll be completely covered in water blessed by the monks (don't worry, you'll get a sarong to change into for the experience), whilst the monks chant in unison. At the end of your blessing, you'll receive a special red tie that signifies the ritual that was performed. This is a unique experience for individuals but can also be a special way for newly weds to celebrate their union as it's said that the blessing brings peace and happiness.

I really liked this experience. The water blessing dis not last for an hour, the guide picked me up on time and he was very kind to explain the importance of the tradition in Cambodian Buddhist culture and he answered all the things I asked him. He also spoke good english and was very friendly. I also liked that this tour supports an NGO named HUSK that taked care of the locals. Definitely a must-try when you visit Siem Reap.

Not many do this but i think It’s a one of a kind experience being blessed by the monk while he chant and pours water on you. It’s a traditional Cambodian blessing and doesnt matter what religion you are. The tourguide was great and he takes great pictures as well!

The tour guide,Lay Kimthet, is an amazing fellow. WE learned so much from him - Buddhism, the Cambodian culture, history. Do not leave Cambodia without experiencing their Traditional Water Blessing. It's a must-try.

We waited for an hour at the hotel lobby. Nobody picked us up. We cannot contact the local operator using the posted contact details. We decided to not proceed with the activity, hoping we’ll get a refund of what we already paid for.

The water blessing is a Khmer Hindu tradition woven into the local Buddhist culture. it is to protect from harmful spirits and keep you blessed. The actual ceremony is less than 15 minutes add another 10 to change and dry Anything else is roaming around the temple complex asking questions etc A small donation would be welcome as the Cambodian monks and their fellows live pretty spartan lives

This is one unique rite I'm grateful to have experienced. During the tour, the guide shared with us the interesting history of how Buddhism found its way to Cambodia. This trip is highly recommended!
