good experience if u like biking. seeing the countryside on bike is a great experience. A significant amount of time will be spent on bike, so this may limit the amount of time u can spend on visiting the temples.

Insider Tips

Important Notes:

  • This cycle is recommended for people with a reasonable level of fitness. However it is 30km on mainly flat tracks with numerous stops for photos, temple exploration and refreshments
  • It is extremely important that you don't hand out gifts, sweets or money to children or villagers as this contributes to the begging cycle, creates jealousy issues and can cause problems

Insider Tips:

  • Cambodia is warm throughout the year, so if you're caught out in the rainy season, the good news is you'll dry off very quickly! Keeping hydrated and protected from the sun is important at all times of year
What to Wear:
  • Sturdy footwear like sneakers/trainers
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Sunglasses and a hat
  • Bring a camera

The tour starts with a tuc-tuc pick up from your hotel. It brings you to the office where you need to sign a disclaimer (you bike on your own risk) which is a standard with this kind of activities. There were many people so we were divided into 2 groups (9 guests). After short introduction we took off for the ticket office (1 day, 3 days or 7 days pass). We cycled through the local villages and got to the east gate of Angkor Wat (less people that at the main gate). We had some fruits after this visit. Our guide Chan was very knowledgeable and friendly. His English was perfect. He was accompanied by the bike mechanic in case something goes wrong. After our visit in the second temple we had good lunch. Last spot was the third temple (Bayon) which was my favourite. In total we cycled 32km. The pace was rather slow so everyone could do it. The only issue is the temperature as it gets hot when you're wearing a helmet. Overall it was very nice trip.

Our driver picked us up right on time. The orientation before the tip was not too long, but just as informative. Bike and equipment were not top of the line, but it was sturdy enough for the travel. Food included during the tour was delicious, water was provided and i took home with me as a souvenir the water bottle provided. Our guides were well informed but they tend to expound too much. overall it was the best way to explore the different temples

Best experience ever! We stumbled upon this experience on klook and I think this made our Cambodian experience. You see things that you would have never seen if you were on a tuk tuk or going around by car. Our guide, Sam, was so great and really knowledgeable on Cambodian history. Best experience ever. Highly recommend to any bodY!

Overall a very unique, fun, and satisfying experience. Much better than just walking around after being dropped off by car or tuk-tuk. By going thru the back roads you feel that you’re immersed with the whole place and makes the visit a lot more magnificent even in the sweltering heat of the day. You do have to be somewhat fit physically and has a good command of manouvering the bike over muddy conditions - not for beginner rider! Bikes are in really good conditions and well maintained. The hotel pickup by tuk-tuk driver was prompt - but there’s a slight confusion since the tour operator’s name was Beyond Escape instead of Grasshopper but it all turned out ok at the end. Would definitely recommend this to others!

If you’re upto being adventurous during your trip, this is the way to the temples. Mostly unpaved, sandy, muddy(it rained on our tour day) and rocky roads, there were also a few stray dogs in the inner villages. Tiring but was a good experience!

We were pleasantly to find that we have been upgraded to a private tour for the three of us, since it was the off-peak season for tourists in Siem Reap. Our tour guide Kimthet was not only extremely knowledgeable about the history of Cambodia and the temples, he also made our trip relevant by bringing us through the countryside and showing us the reality of the income gap and poverty in Cambodia. It was overall an insightful trip, and highly recommended!

It is the highlight of my trip to Siem Reap!! Our tour guide, Lot, is very professional and considerate. He offered insights of local people’s life as well as on the history and culture of Cambodia. The tour was very well organised. For a big group as ours (9 ppl), they had one guide and one assistance to safeguard us. The fruit break and lunch was also very good. Highly recommended. The only thing you need to worry is sun burn :)

Great experience and biked on almost all terrains. Reviews said beginners could do it but I don’t think so. We happened to be with a group of all American cyclists and they were so fast we kept getting left behind as the only small Asians. Good thing the bike mechanic was also there so he waited for us. We arrived almost 45 min behind the group at the end.
