What To Expect

Wake up to incredible sunrise views of Angkor Wat silhouetted against the skyline. This unforgettable morning cycle guides you through the back trails among the ruins of the Angkor Kingdom. With an early start, you'll join a small group of early risers eager to see the sunrise. Once they've returned to bed, you'll have the rest of the morning to explore the Angkor temples in the soft dawn light and, most welcomingly, without the tourist crowds. Follow your guide on a walking tour of Angkor Wat before settling down for a peaceful breakfast just outside the temple grounds. Once you're revitalized, the rest of the day will be spent riding the back trails through ruins and forests, with stops at both iconic and lesser-known temples including Bayon and Ta Prom. You'll take lunch by a small reservoir then as the day heats up, you'll drive back to town and your hotel.

    Excellent experience!

The bike seats added with the rocky off-beaten road will kill your butt! I'm disappointed since there were so many good reviews of Grasshopper Adventures. This tour is not for those who don't regularly bike or have experience with mountain biking. My partner and I have bruises from falling off the bike, another person on the tour severely hurt her wrist, to the point where she had to take the car instead of continuing biking. We have scratches all over our arms from thorny plants we passed by. I'm not sure if it was just us but our tour guide was not all that friendly and hard to understand. I've had much better experience of tours in Vietnam and Indonesia with the nicest of tour guides. Breakfast and lunch were average. Trip seems quite overpriced in comparison with other companies, overall a very average experience. I would suggest looking for other tour companies.

I have been to Angkor Wat more than once. But nothing beats exploring the temples on the bike, as we see the villages and lives of the people around the Angkor area. It brings life to the UNESCO monument, besides the hype over the iconic scene of TombRaider at Ta Prohmn temple. The route was moderately difficult but manageable for a not-so-skilled cyclist. Our guide Sammy was excellent and knowledgeable, taking care of our group's safety while bringing us through an adventurous trail. Not forgetting the delightful breakfast after sunrise, fruit platter after a long trail and lunch at the end of the session:)

The tour guide was very nice and welcoming. He was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed walking through the temples with the tour guide as he explained and showed us different parts of the temple. The bike riding was really fun. It was a super hot day but it was worth it. We rode our bikes in the forest and near the water to the different temples. We also got breakfast and lunch. Lunch was amazing. 5 different dishes. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience with grasshopper tours. I would definitely do this again.

Very organised (Grasshopper Adventures), good food options, knowledgeable guide, lovely to cycle through quiet jungle paths and villages as well as see three highly impressive temples. 18km cycle was mostly flat but felt like quite an achievement for someone who hasn't cycled for years! Harder work than expected from the description.

Amazing experience, the cycling route takes you off the beaten path and you can see the more tranquil side of the Angkor Wat archaeological park. The guides were very attentive and gave good introductions to the temples. Only wish the tour was a little longer and could see more of the park!

We booked the before sunrise temple cycling tour, the escape the crowds tour and the evening cooking classes. The guide (and driver) on the cycle tour was excellent, very attentive and knowledgeable and the food was wonderful. It was a very hot day and we were giving cold water and flannels throughout the day, which were very welcome. We'd been to the national museum the day before, which I'd recommend, so we got a lot out of this tour. The next day we went to many other well-chosen temples which were not on the main tourist trail and well-worth visiting. The guide was knowledgeable but seemed to be distracted and as the day went on, became quite distant. So, I think we could have got a bit more from the day. As other reviewers have said, the land mine museum was a little rushed. Overall, a very interesting and enjoyable day. Lastly, we both really enjoyed the cookery course; the beautiful setting, guide and cook couldn't be faulted. Seeing how locals live was an eye-opener and it was wonderful to know that the hotel, where it was held, supported the village and local young people. The food we made was easy and very very tasty. Overall, the tours were good very for money, all enjoyable and worthwhile in their own way and the staff incredibly helpful on the whole. We were picked up from our hotel and dropped off for two of the tours (but at the office for the escape the crowds tour).

It was an awesome experience and the staff are all very knowledgeable and take care of the tour well. We had a chance to look at some very historical temples and art work. Thank you again and I am looking forward to visit Cambodia again and will join the bike tour again.

It was such a nice activity. We were divided into groups of approximately around 15 people with one guide. The tour was so well organized with everyone’s safety. Our guide was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. It was nice to see the main temples which are collectively protected as World Heritage Site with very interesting information told from our excellent English speaking guide. The scenery along the road was amazing and unique yet the weather was quite hot as the heat shone bright on the afternoon of that day. Very enjoyed it plus a good physical workout from cycling for hours!
