Long Island, Andaman, is in the Middle Andaman group, and by ferry it takes most of a day just to get there. Our direct boat reaches Lalaji Bay in about 2 hours, so you get an empty white beach, a quiet snorkel reef and a long lunch on board, and are back in Havelock by evening.

What to expect
Long Island in one day by direct boat from Havelock, with no 5 to 7 hour ferry via Rangat. You get time on Lalaji Bay, an uninhabited 1.2 km white-sand beach that is reached only by sea.

Suitable for all ages from 5, with life jackets for non-swimmers. The Forest Department permit (Rs 500 per Indian, Rs 2,500 per foreign guest) is paid in cash. The captain decides on the morning of the trip.
