The Brussel card is helpful when visiting the museums. But bare in mind that most of the museums are closed on Monday, so if the pass was valid only for 24 hours and it happened to be started on Monday, then the pass would be nearly useless. The public transportation pass is useful in some level, but I think Brussels is very small. Most of the sightseeing points can be found by foot.
