Kimono Rental Experience by Wakana Kimono in Asakusa

everything was perfect I upgraded my kimono the the premium on the day and absolutely fell in love! the staff are super friendly and even though my Japanese is basic I was still able to communicate easily. my photographer Akira Nakatani was amazing super friendly and professional and made me feel so at ease as a soil traveller I had a blast and the photos came out amazing! could not recommend this place enough!

The staff were very friendly, very helpful and spoke English which helped. The location was awsome as there is a shrine right next to the location where you get changed that can help give beautiful photos.

The staff were incredibly friendly and detail-oriented. They did an amazing job on my girlfriend’s hair and made us feel so welcome, even though we couldn’t speak Japanese at all. I highly recommend this place, especially since it’s conveniently located near a temple, bus stops, and a train station.

My partner and I had an amazing time renting couple kimonos from Wakana. The staff were friendly and professional, helping us choose matching kimonos and dressing us with great attention to detail. The kimonos were stunning, and we felt truly special walking through Kyoto’s historic streets. Highly recommend Wakana for anyone looking for a seamless and memorable kimono rental experience!

able to book n get on the spot even though day/date isnt available on the app. n they take pride in their kimono wear that every layer has to be put on properly n neatly. love the hairdo, the courteousness n good command of english. only the hairdo n make up must add money. slippers, socks, bags n item storage are all inclusive. a photo taken in our attire, printed n frame is given to us upon return. arigato!

Thank you to Wakana for providing us with these beautiful kimonos to rent for our day exploring Gion. The location is easy to find as it is right on the corner across from Yasaka Shrine! The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful when we were selecting our kimonos, giving clear and reasonable directions to make the styling process smooth. The casual plan and free accessories were more than enough for us to choose from, though I also opted to pay for the additional hairstyling experience and was glad I did! We took lots of great photos (and even had some taken of us by people passing by) around the area. We would love to come back again and try one of the other plans!

It was a little difficult to locate the shop as it was on the second floor. But the staff there were all really friendly and helpful, one of the staff spoke chinese so it was a lot easier to communicate

We arrived to our session being warmly greeted by the few ladies, our family of 5 had the best time choosing and being fitted professionally for our Kimonos. Range of choices and accesories were lovely and not rushed. Venue is clean and well maintained, conveniently located near parks and yummy, authentic restaurants. Thank you to the team at Wakana for making our experience so pleasant and memorable :) The New Year Card was so thoughtful!
