What to expect
Famously known as the residential capital of the thousand-year-old Silla Dynasty, Gyeongju takes you on a magical journey through South Korea's ancient customs filled with folklore and myths on this historical tour. With early departures from convenient locations within Busan, you are guaranteed a safe and enjoyable ride to Gyeongju's plethora of attractions ranging from charming country villages, dramatic monuments and tombs, lovely palaces, and more relics dating centuries' back. Start the tour with a lovely stroll in Yangdong Village, Korea's largest traditional village and home to many cultural heritages representing the Joseon dynasty. The village possesses tranquil and scenic charms, offering a wonderful backdrop as you delight in traditional Korean cuisine at a restaurant nearby. Continue toward Bulguksa Temple, the representative landmark of Gyeongju and declared a UNESCO World Cultural Asset in 1995. See more than 10,000 artifacts kept inside the Daereungwon Royal Tomb Complex, including the Cheonmachong Tomb, a terrific dome-shape tomb of an unknown royal member of the Silla Dynasty. Take a coffee break upon arriving in Hwangnam-dong before moving on to the Cheomsongdae Observatory. The observatory is the oldest existing astronomical watchtower in Asia and was used to track the movement of the stars for the weather forecast. After, enjoy a hearty lunch at a restaurant in Gyochon Traditional Village before concluding the tour at Donggung Palace – a sight to behold at night with its majestic reflections on the Wolji and Anapji ponds.

Reviews
Only 8 joined for this tour on the day we signed for. We travelled in a bigger car. Kim was good as a tour guide and speaks English and Chinese. The temple was normal and big. The UNESCO village was very very beautiful!!! We had a nice walk around after lunch. Lunch was beef bulgogi and yummy. Pay the restaurant directly. The night view was beautiful and we ended early as night gets darker earlier in winter. We left around 6 plus but was caught in traffic jam. Reached Nampo area only around 8 plus. Overall a good day trip when in Busan.
Our driver and guide Mr Kim is awesome, friendly and patient! We took lots of beautiful pictures on the tour. A pity that we visited Gyeongju too early and missed the autumn leaves as they will turn redder only from mid to end Oct. For lunch, Mr Kim brought us to a restaurant in yangdong village for bulgogi baekban. It was good and cost 12,000 won per pax. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Do wear good walking shoes as there'll be much walking!
Our guide was Mr.Kim, a nice, old man who is quite young at heart! Our trip was a day packed with several spots to see, and Mr. Kim made sure we felt comfortable and found restaurants that can accommodate our dietary restrictions. He drove us to Gwangju from Busan and covered many different spots, even more than what was initially planned, all while maintaining time punctually. He also explained the significance of each historical site we visited. He arranged guided English tours for each location and made sure we had a good time. I would highly recommend him for any tours in Busan and outside of Busan as well!
It was very informative and Gyeongju is beautiful! Gyeongju is very different from Busan and its an interesting change from the hustle and bustle of the city :)
Mr Kim is a great guide, he explained everything he showed us. It is very nice and drives very well. I recommend % 100 !! Thank you MrKim!!!
The driver was punctual and polite. The visit time is quite adequate. It is convenient to go to several important attractions in Gyeongju in one go.
Excellent itinerary with a good allowance of free time. English commentary was good. Was contacted by the guide (Mr Kim) the day before to confirm pick up details. The only additional expense on the day was lunch. Mr Kim recommended a very good bulgogi restaurant in Yangdong village (optional). We were able to be dropped off in the shopping area after the tour.
Mr Kim who was our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour enabled us to know Gyeongju better and we would love to come back again to tour other areas within Gyeongju! Its definitely worth going 😊
Great day of sights, much easier than trying to travel to them independently, with the added bonus of explanations & context! Lovely guide, in an immaculate vehicle. We learnt a lot, and also had help getting a vegetarian lunch.
tour was great and able to understand some of the historical.
