As winter comes to Hokkaido and Shinshinotsu lake freezes over, ice fishing season begins - a Hokkaido experience not to be missed! Enjoy the scenic snowscape as you fish through holes made in the ice to catch smelt and dace fish. If this is your first time fishing, there are plenty of friendly staff to show you how to use the equipment. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, have your catch cooked at the on-site restaurant into a delicious tempura lunch. If you haven't had the most success with your catch, don’t worry, there’s also a full buffet you can choose from too. When you’re in the mood for something more warming and relaxing, take a dip in the hot springs known for their soothing, mineral qualities. Feel free to bring your own towel, otherwise towels sell at JPY200, and keep in mind before booking that the Japanese gender-segregated spring is for nude bathing only. Roundtrip transport from Sapporo is also included. Happy fishing!
