What to expect
Well known for its golds and blues, the island paradise of Mauritius is also home to darker, earthier hues – as revealed in this tour of the south. See Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcano some 600m in elevation, before stopping at Historic Marine, the largest model ship factory in Mauritius. Then troop over to Grand Bassin, a crater lake that is also a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus, and its surrounding shrines and temples – including the highest statue in Mauritius, the 33m-tall Shiva. A contrast from sibling emerald beaches, the southern tip of Gris Gris awaits next, with its fierce waves and charcoal cliffs, as well as the wave-chiseled Pont Naturel. The earthen palette lasts here, with a last stop at Blue Bay bringing back sights of turquoise waters and coral reefs, inviting many a visitor to a refreshing snorkel.

Reviews
Highly recommended tour of the South of the island. The tour guide picked us up in a car and didn't realise that it was a private tour with the 2 of us. The volcano was definitely worth seeing and the "natural point" which us accessible through an unmade road is thrilling. The glass bottom boat trip was great with views of countless different types of reefs and fish. The lunch which included a soft drink was ok.
The crater is still OK, but the view to the foot of the mountain is very beautiful. The colorful shrines of the Hindu Temple in the Holy Water Lake are very novel. The coast next to lunch is also beautiful. The natural bridge is spectacular and scary. There are many clear fish in Blue Bay. Unfortunately, the time is too short. Overall this trip is recommended.
The best parts is not the beach you need to walk to roch ki pleur and there is stunning. If you want to experience the natural side of Mauritius, the South Coast is essential
Worth it. Beautiful landscape...on time and courteous drive
