Skipped the ticket lines during the Mid-Autumn Festival long weekend and got fast-track entry. Highly recommended! Especially since you can use Cool Coins, making it the top choice for buying tickets. The exhibition is ending soon. I was quite surprised by Mucha's mystical side, as well as the many sculptures I hadn't seen before.
When I visited the Tainan Art Museum Building 2, I happened to see this exhibition, so I bought a ticket to enter. Although the ticket wasn't particularly cheap, it included admission to the museum, allowing me to see other exhibitions inside as well, which made it very worthwhile.
The museum is divided into several exhibition areas, which provide a detailed overview of Mucha's creative stages throughout his career. The artist's commercial-style works are quite familiar, but the exhibition also includes his lesser-known, beautifully delicate pieces. Outside the exhibition area, there are creative merchandise items for sale. The museum also features other exhibition themes that are definitely worth seeing.
The exhibition flow was excellent, allowing me to see many of Mucha's works from different periods up close. I was also deeply moved to see self-portraits of the Mucha family 🩵
🤓To enjoy the "Art Nouveau: Mucha 100th Anniversary Classic Exhibition" drifting south to Tainan City🤓 was an eye-opener 😍 and an incredible value. 😘 I spent a full hour looking at everything and still wanted more. 😌 The exhibits were rich in variety and numerous. 🤩 The reproduction light and shadow exhibitions in Taipei totally got crushed. 😂 The only minor flaw was that the merchandise was painfully boring. 🤪 Folder files, mouse pads, puzzles, silk scarves, and tote bags simply printed with Mucha's works really fail to spark any desire to buy. 🫣 In the end, I only brought home a guide book. 😒 Please, exhibition curators, take a look at the merchandise from Japanese exhibitions. 🤨 If you can't innovate, at least imitate. 😮💨 For instance, you could replicate the paper boxes or tin cans of cookies from back then, 🍪 create vintage-packaged test tube perfumes, 🧪 make the real goddesses and statue series into 3D chocolates, 🍫 and blind bag transparent cards should be relatively easy. 🙄 To save trouble, the merchandisers just played it safe, 😬 missing out on so much business potential. What a pity! 😔
Viewing the exhibition of Mucha's works reveals that he created promotional posters for celebrities and companies of the time, reflecting his national identity, sense of ethnicity, and anti-war ideals. It is a wonderful exhibition.
By avoiding the holiday crowds and squeezing in a visit on the very last day to enjoy Mucha's work, I originally thought there would only be paintings, but it turned out there were so many other pieces as well. It was amazing!
The current Mucha special exhibition, featuring classic works from various periods of his career and his influence on modern art, is definitely worth a visit!
The exhibition features a rich variety of items, including posters, packaging, sculptures, and stained-glass church windows, showcasing Mucha's abundant and brilliant creativity. It's definitely worth spending two hours to savor every detail.
There are many great works, and the tickets were fine, just like buying them from the official website. I used the QR code for the attendant to scan. However, some of the exhibits didn't have lighting. The directions were very clear.
