HARIJYU - Sukiyaki restaurant in Osaka

I never imagined that a dinner at this price point (HK$8,000 for 6 persons, not including drinks) would be such an experience! If it weren't for the reasonable portion sizes and high quality of the wagyu beef, I would give this restaurant a bad review! As soon as we entered our reserved private room, four servers in kimonos simultaneously brought in our food, including appetizers, sashimi, tempura, and thinly sliced grilled steak. Everything was already cooked and placed on the table all at once. Then, two servers simultaneously began cooking the sukiyaki beef and serving it to us... I really wanted to ask... which dish should I eat first? All the dishes filled the table, and we didn't even have time to take a photo! Later, we had to ask the servers to leave so we could handle the rest of the sukiyaki beef and vegetables ourselves. Only then could we slow down and try the grilled steak, which had already gotten cold... The entire process felt rushed! This was a birthday celebration dinner, and we even opened two bottles of Daiginjo sake. The total for the dinner was nearly HK$10,000, and the experience at this restaurant was truly disappointing. 😢

This is my second time visiting Harijyu, and the staff's service attitude is still very friendly. The food maintains its high quality, the appetizers are unique, and the wagyu beef melts in your mouth. The portion size is more than sufficient for dinner. My last visit to Harijyu was during Easter, and reservations were fully booked, so we could only dine at lunchtime. This time, as soon as I knew I'd be back in Osaka, I made a reservation immediately. I'm dining with my 4-year-old daughter again, and they were able to arrange seating for us just by noting that we had a child.

The food was incredibly fresh, and the service was excellent. The private rooms offer a high degree of privacy. I will definitely visit again.

The food tastes good, and the decor is very Japanese, but there are better options for the same price.

The environment is beautiful and retro, the staff are polite and kind, and the food is fresh and delicious. I will definitely come again next time! 😋

The service and food quality at the restaurant didn't quite meet my expectations. You can tell they use good ingredients, but I wouldn't recommend it to others. The price is quite high, and it didn't leave a very deep impression. It's not the stir-fried Kansai-style sukiyaki, which is something to be aware of! I discussed this with another group of customers who ordered the same set, and we both mistakenly thought it would be stir-fried.

The value for money is average. While it's in a good location in the heart of Dotonbori, the quality and portion sizes of the food aren't particularly cost-effective compared to the price. The service is decent. It's worth experiencing once, but don't go in with high expectations.
