What to expect

In the heart of Enshi Qingjiang Grand Canyon, the Jigongling Via Ferrata is like a steel ladder embedded on a 90-degree vertical limestone cliff. With a 650-meter vertical drop, it has earned the reputation of “Asia’s High Via Ferrata” and has been praised by “China National Geographic” as “China’s Beautiful Via Ferrata.” Here, the magnificence of karst landforms is perfectly integrated with the excitement of outdoor adventures, allowing ordinary people to touch the sky on the cliffs and overlook the beautiful scenery of Qingjiang without professional climbing skills. Via Ferrata originated in Italy as a “rock wall railway climbing” route. It was originally a military passage during wartime and has now become an extreme sport for all. The Jigongling Via Ferrata is built on the natural cliffs of the Jingyang section of the Qingjiang River. The starting point is located at the throat of the Qingjiang Sleeping Buddha, facing the Butterfly Cliff scenic area across the river. Every climb offers a panoramic view of the winding green waters and overlapping peaks and forests of the canyon. When the clouds and fog surround it, it is like being in a fairyland.
