What to expect
Tours depart daily in the winter, available for 1 person and up, with multiple languages and time slots to choose from. You can also select a package that includes hotel pickup and drop-off! Iceland experiences a lot of extreme weather; for everyone's safe travel, if extreme weather occurs, you will be notified in advance of cancellation, and you can reschedule or cancel for free! Please be aware!
Once all passengers have gathered, we will leave the light pollution of the city and head into the Icelandic countryside to welcome this mysterious natural wonder. The tour may pass by the Aurora Reykjavík center, but we will not be visiting inside!
Unlike other tours, our itinerary has no fixed route. Departing from Reykjavík, we will drive no more than 90 minutes to find the best place to view the Northern Lights. Before departure, the guide will choose the best viewing location based on that day's aurora forecast and weather cloud maps.
Along the way, the guide will share stories and knowledge about the Northern Lights and Iceland. When we arrive at the location we deem most suitable, while waiting for the Northern Lights, the guide will also offer photography tips to help you use the best camera settings to capture the beautiful aurora moments.
Chasing the Northern Lights requires patience and may involve waiting for a period in the cold night.
We hope to see the aurora at our first stop, but if natural conditions do not cooperate, we may head to other locations to continue the search, making every effort to fulfill your aurora dream.
Although we have aurora and weather forecasts and our guides are very professional, the Northern Lights are ultimately a natural phenomenon and may occasionally be missed. If you fail to see the Northern Lights during the tour, we will offer you a free re-try opportunity! Your guide will tell you how to rebook. The re-try offer is valid for two years from your original departure date.
After the night concludes, we will drop you back off at the exact same location in Reykjavík where you were picked up.
