Gently pushed open, the imperial banquet’s regulations unfolded from the steps to the depths of the palace hall. Palace lanterns hung high in succession, their warm light washing over carved dougong brackets and gilded beams, making the white marble railings appear warm and translucent. Inside, ambergris and the sweet osmanthus fragrance of Jiangxi intertwined, while rosewood tables were neatly arranged. On the tables, jade plates and glazed cups shimmered with brilliance, and celadon vessels complemented the delicacies. Ancient charm and opulence flowed in the interplay of light and shadow, fully displaying the solemn grandeur of the banquet. Delicacies were presented in sequence according to ancient customs, each dish blending the local flavors of Yuzhang with the essence of imperial cuisine. Seasoned with imperial调味, they were fragrant and elegant, with exquisitely carved, lifelike pastries, perfect in color, aroma, form, and charm. With a gentle lift of jade chopsticks, the fresh flavors spread on the tongue, paired with sweet and potent nectar. Each bite was a perfect fusion of culinary culture and royal protocol, fully showcasing the meticulousness of the imperial banquet. The sounds of flutes and strings rose, and ritual music harmonized. Dancers’ silken skirts fluttered, their embroidered patterns resembling the surging Gan River, bringing forth a hall full of splendor with their graceful movements. Singers’ clear voices were melodious, their tunes imbued with the ancient charm of Yuzhang from a thousand years ago, lingering pleasantly in the ear. Guests at the banquet, their robes fragrant, chatted elegantly. The clinking of cups intertwined with the music, and the palace lanterns swayed, light and shadow flowing, deeply blending royal majesty with the cultural heritage of Ganpo.
