  • Material Alchemy: Future Relics Sruli Recht presents future relics with “Material Alchemy.” From the electrolytically grown “Water Edict” to the lava-mirrored “Geomancy,” the works emulate the Earth’s original creative power and construct an alternative creation pedigree based on the Earth’s ontology in material exploration.
  • Sensory Nesting: Immersive Field The exhibition space is shaped into a sensory nest. Light, soundscape, and scent are precisely intertwined, guiding the audience into a migratory journey that delves into the instinct of dwelling in a cave, experiencing a complete arc of introspection and emotional transformation.
  • Soundscape Construction: Spatial Emotion We have specially invited Icelandic music masters and video artists to co-create a soundscape vision. Ethereal electronic soundscapes blend with geological pulsations, and algorithmic light and color simulate alien rhythms, together becoming architects of spatial emotion.

What to expect

  • "Fiction" is Sruli Recht's first solo exhibition in Asia by Icelandic artist, fully presenting the accumulation and exploration of his multidisciplinary artistic practice. This artist constantly challenges the boundaries between design, art and philosophy; stemming from Iceland - a land of extreme nature and profound isolation - Recht's work is essentially permeated with an existential exploration of materiality, the human condition, and the origin of creation.
  • The exhibition is constructed as a journey through his uncertain world, and the works demonstrate the artist's mastery of experimental material language - from leather, gravel to forged metal. These are neither functional appliances nor decorations, but tangible future assumptions, constantly questioning "What if one day the world...?"
  • Recht's works often draw on anatomy and organic forms, regarding the body as both a scale and a material, arousing contemplation of fragility, eternity and inheritance. He calls his creation process "extreme craftsmanship", integrating traditional techniques and cutting-edge technology, so that the works are filled with both ancient and futuristic atmosphere - a true relic dedicated to the future era.
  • This series of works establishes Recht's key position in the field of contemporary critical design, bringing the audience an immersive and tangible speculative experience, questioning the most fundamental meaning of objects in human life.
  • Sruli Recht is an internationally renowned artist and designer, known for his forward-looking exploration of materials and production.
  • Born in Israel, he moved to Australia and Europe, and finally settled in Reykjavik, Iceland, where he set up a studio and continued to challenge established design dogmas and conventions.
  • Recht's works have been exhibited in top exhibitions around the world for many times. He integrates cutting-edge manufacturing technology with deep cultural narratives, and his unconventional design and cutting-edge speculation have established his multiple discourses in the fields of avant-garde fashion, design and art.
