What to expect
- Shaolin Temple is a sacred Buddhist site in China and the ancestral home of the Han Chinese Buddhism "Chan School." In 527 AD, the famous Indian monk Bodhidharma (Patriarch Bodhidharma) sailed to southern China via waterway, and then crossed the Yangtze River northward to enter the Central Plains. He came to Shaolin and practiced Zen Buddhism in the mountains behind Shaolin Temple. He was the first to advocate the Zen Buddhist doctrine of "transmission from heart to heart," and thus established the lofty status of Shaolin Temple as the ancestral home of Zen Buddhism. Today, many tourists come to Shaolin Temple to pray for blessings and peace.
- After the "Thirteen Monk Soldiers Saved Emperor Li Shimin" in the early Tang Dynasty, Shaolin Temple became famous all over the world for its exquisite "Shaolin Kung Fu." Since then, Shaolin monks have been practicing martial arts, which has become a trend and passed down from generation to generation. Shaolin Temple is the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu, and the Shaolin School is a martial arts school with a wide range, long history, and many types of boxing in the martial arts world. Since ancient times, it has been the "No. 1 Martial Arts School in the World" in the hearts of Chinese people and the Taishan Beidou of martial arts in the world. The Pagoda Forest is the burial place of the successive abbots of Shaolin Temple. It is quiet and solemn. Maybe you can find the shadow of the movie "Shaolin Temple" here.
