Iceland Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon Day Trip (Crater Lake Geyser & Gullfoss Waterfall)

Þingvellir National Park is a place of great geological and cultural significance, and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. Located on the exposed part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, Þingvellir is the rift valley between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, meaning you will be standing between two continents. The Öxarárfoss waterfall crosses the ridge, presenting a beautiful 13-meter (42.65 ft) drop. Here, the world's first parliament was founded in 930 AD. Standing on the Hakið observation deck, you can overlook the magnificent panorama of the entire area. Nearby is the Almannagjá gorge, with water sourced from Iceland's second largest glacier, Langjökull, and the water is crystal clear. The Geysir area is an active geothermal area filled with steam vents, bubbling mud pits, and colorful ponds. The most striking is the Strokkur geyser, which erupts every 5-10 minutes, shooting water columns up to 20 meters high. Visitors should be especially careful to only walk on designated trails, as the water temperature below the hot springs is extremely high. Gullfoss waterfall, also called the Golden Waterfall, is one of the must-see attractions on Iceland's Golden Circle route. Its water flows first from an 11-meter (36 ft) gentle slope, and then plunges from a 68-meter (230 ft) cliff, stirring up huge water mists. Kerið Crater is another highlight on Iceland's Golden Circle, known for its green lake water and colorful crater slopes. Kerið Crater was formed 3,000 years ago when a volcanic eruption caused the volcanic cavity to collapse, forming the crater we see today. The crater is a perfect inverted cone shape, and visitors can visit it along the trail. The Blue Lagoon is today's highlight, known for its milky blue water, which is rich in silica, algae, salt and other minerals, and has excellent cosmetic effects. Here you can enjoy a spa-like experience, and may even see the Northern Lights in winter. Since its opening in 1987, the Blue Lagoon's reputation for healing has spread far and wide, attracting millions of visitors from all over the world.
