What to expect
In this 90-minute cultural program, feel the powerful rhythm of Japan as you craft your own bachi (drumsticks) and play the historic “Uto Amagoi Taiko,” a National Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property with roots in the Edo period. Your handmade bachi will be yours to keep as a memorable souvenir.
- A Soulful Welcome Performance (5 min): Be captivated by the energy of a “Mukae-daiko” performed by professional drummers.
- Discover Taiko’s History (10 min): Learn about the 26 Amagoi Taiko drums on display and their centuries-old legacy.
