What to expect
Located on the banks of West Lake, Hangzhou Palace Banquet is an immersive feast that exquisitely blends traditional culture with modern entertainment, offering a mesmerizing experience. Stepping into this venue is like opening a door to travel through time. Red walls reflect the sunlight, and ancient-style梁柱 (Liang Zhu, beams and pillars) support a world of their own, with a rich historical atmosphere enveloping you.
Advanced audio-visual technology shows its prowess, creating realistic scenes. The gentle moonlight sprinkles over pavilions, and raindrops patter on banana leaves. Every scene is magnificent, instantly maximizing the ancient charm.
Here, hundreds of actors in ancient costumes shuttle through the venue, delivering brilliant performances. Classical dances are graceful and charming. The dancers extend their wide sleeves and move lightly, with every move full of charm. Traditional operas are melodious and moving, with delicate singing, leading guests to appreciate the charm of classical art.
At the climax of the performance, snowflakes flutter and fall, instantly creating the feeling of traveling back to the prosperous imperial court of thousands of years ago, placing you in a legendary story and allowing you to truly feel the wonderful experience brought by the passage of time.
To allow guests to integrate more deeply into this ancient-style feast, Hangzhou Palace Banquet also has a dedicated area offering more than 200 gorgeous Hanfu with different styles, from the unrestrained and elegant Wei and Jin Dynasties, the luxurious and graceful Tang Dynasty, to the gentle and moving Song Dynasty, and the dignified and elegant Ming Dynasty, allowing you to choose at will. Put up your hair in a bun, apply 花黄 (Hua Huang, decorative yellow patches), and sweep on 娥眉 (E'mei, moth-like eyebrows). With careful makeup, you can transform into an ancient beauty or a handsome young man.
The service staff are also dressed in ancient costumes, following ancient palace etiquette, from the salutations and greetings when welcoming guests, to the solemn hand-washing ceremony before being seated, to the attentive service during the meal. Every detail is full of palace style.

The highlight of our Hangzhou tour. There r others Banquet dinner with performance too but this one gets the most positive review and indeed it is really an unforgettable experience. The Dongpo rou is the best I ever tasted in my life. Being a Cantonese and so picky wt food, this experience really allows me to taste the authentic meals. There r many restaurants which serves Dongpo Rou in Hangzhou and I hv tasted a few but this is the best one I hv tasted. The overall experience, services, wow.. a MUST go.

Great performance and really good food. Operator managed to book the third row seats, great view from there. Personally think its not necessay to pay extra for the vip seats

We purchased meal vouchers and also added on some clothing items; the hair accessories provided were really nice. The performance was excellent, and the venue was perfect for taking photos. It's definitely worth a visit. We would consider coming again.
You absolutely must sit in the first row! I thought the main attraction was just the palace song and dance performance, but all the dishes were incredibly delicious. I recommend mentioning it's for a birthday when you make your reservation; there will be an extra surprise! 🤭
