The 72-hour Greenline bus pass allowed us to explore Rome from multiple perspectives, enabling us to truly "experience" the must-see sights of Rome more fully than with other hop-on hop-off buses. In fact, the "classic" route (green route, very frequent) is complemented by a "museums" route (blue route, much less frequent) and an "orange" route (which passes the pyramid, etc. in the south, also much less frequent). The multilingual audio guide is very good, and the staff is friendly. Be sure to regularly check the bus's real-time progress on the website's interactive map: while our blue bus was supposed to arrive in 30 minutes, suddenly it was announced to be arriving in 10 minutes. We had to run, we arrived just in time, and the staff was kind enough to wait a bit for my husband, who was lagging behind. Otherwise, we would have had to wait 2 hours.
I was able to efficiently tour the city of Rome. It would be helpful if there were a few more buses.
On my first day in Rome, I thought buying a hop-on hop-off tour would be a convenient way to explore the city without walking too much, but I was wrong. It was a waste of a day riding the bus. I thought the view from the top deck would be great, but it was windy and very cold. Also, there were many people getting on, and having to check the QR code was inconvenient and a waste of time. I wouldn't recommend it. It's better to walk or take the subway in Rome's city center.
The boarding area is a little difficult to understand. Also, on the second floor, there are covered and uncovered areas, and luck determines which one you get. I think the view is better without a roof.
The Blue Line and Red Line are unavailable, and the train schedule is not listed.
