The Metasequoia Road in Gongju is beautiful as the sunset near the Jeongancheon Ecological Park. There are benches scattered about, making it a great place to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

The promenade landscape surrounded by 192 lush metasequoia trees planted over a 500m section is a famous photo spot and is loved by visitors all year round.

Gongsanseong Fortress is a fortification situated at the heart of Gongju, which served as the capital of the ancient Baekje kingdom (18 BCE - 660 CE) from 475 to 538.

The Gongsanseong Fortress wall spans 2,660m in length. It is primarily a stone wall, except for the 735m-long earthen fortifications in the eastern part of the fortress. A significant part of the fortress wall was rebuilt after the Joseon Dynasty.

From the fortress, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Gongju’s city center and the Geumgang River.

Baekje was an ancient state that existed from 18 BC to 660 AD. In July 2015, eight Baekje relics, including Gongsanseong Fortress in Gongju, King Muryeong's Tomb and Royal Tomb Garden in Gongju, were registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites as the 'Baekj

King Muryeong's Tomb is the tomb of King Muryeong, the 25th king of Baekje, and his queen. It is the only royal tomb from the Three Kingdoms period whose owner is known.

King Muryeong's tomb was found in perfect condition, completely untouched by any external intervention, and the tomb was rich in relics. There are a total of 4,600 relics, of which 12 are designated as national treasures.

Yeonmisan Natural Art Park is Korea's only eco-friendly ecological art park specializing in 'natural art.' Yeonmisan Nature Art Park features sculptures created from natural materials, such as clay, wood, and stone.

As part of the Geumgang Nature Art Biennale, an international nature art festival, you can see around 100 outdoor installation works by domestic and international artists on various themes every year.

The installations are in harmony with nature and are constantly replaced according to the limits of their lifespan, allowing you to enjoy them with new emotions each time.

Gongju was the capital of Baekje for 64 years from 475 to 538. In 2010, Gongju Hanok Village opened in the center of Baekje culture, preserving the traditional beauty of Hanok while providing modern conveniences.

Gongju Hanok Village is midway between the Songsan Ancient Tombs - burial place of King Muryeong of Baekje and his queen - and Gongju National Museum.

Baekje history and culture programs on offer include a Baekje costumes experience, a royal tea ceremony, royal candies and Baekje relics.
