What To Expect

Are you loud and proud? Raise your heart to the rainbow flag and join the tour that celebrates the LGBT community of Taipei City and its famous attractions! On this walking tour, you will get to explore the city’s historical landmarks that have paved the way for Taiwan's LGBT movement and have served as critical symbols for the community’s fight for equal rights. Start your liberating tour with a visit to the GinGin Store, the first culture shop that focuses on LGBT culture featuring literature, magazines, DVDs/CDs, apparels, adult toys, and even art exhibitions from LGBT artists and allies, and the Love Boat Shop which sells similar fashion and lifestyle materials - they basically have everything you need for the rainbow life! After visiting these shops, head over to the place where the first Pride March in Taiwan was held, the 228 Peace Memorial Park, and relive the country’s most iconic step towards equality. Before making your way to Taiwan’s well known LGBT hub, stop over at Taipei’s first girl high school, then you will be walking to the Red House Theater next. Take a stroll around the unofficial LGBT district of Taipei to see some of the Taiwanese LGBT community’s popular hang out spots and creative spaces. Celebrate your pride through this LGBT walking tour around the city where the biggest LGBT parade in Asia is held yearly!
