    I redeem my tickets without problem. But I recommend to pick-up your tickets at least a day ahead, or go earlier to the station on the day that you travel. The train is a great way to see much more from China, and the service is good, in time, clean, with excellent service. The high speed rail is a great option for travelers, although it is not cheap.

Immigration and Boarding:

  • After you have passed the ID check at the Ticketing Concourse on Level B1, you can then go through the first set of gates for luggage and security check
  • Descend to the Departure Concourse on Level B3 to complete both the Hong Kong and Mainland clearance procedures in one go
  • Wait at the Departure Concourse and follow the directions to pass through the second set of gates to Level B4. Gates will be closed 5 minutes before departure time

Additional Information:

  • Please arrive at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station at least 45 minutes in advance for immigration clearance. Kindly prepare your visa or other valid travel documents before boarding the train
  • Please note: Klook does not provide ticket change service. However, passengers can change tickets only once at West Kowloon Station by bringing their identity documents (the same ones used for ticket purchase). The MTR will handle the ticket change with the principle of more refunds and less subsidies for no additional fee
Luggage Allowance
  • Adults are limited to 20kg luggage allowance while children are limited to 10kg. The total luggage size of each luggage piece must not exceed 130cm
  • High Speed Rail (HSR) does not provide luggage or parcel shipment. If necessary, please check with the package delivery service provider at the ticketing office located on Level B1, West Kowloon Station

Real-name Policy:

  • All passengers purchasing High Speed Rail tickets will be required to provide their full name and identification number as shown on their valid identity document. To board the train, passengers must produce his/her relevant identity document matching the name and identification number printed on the ticket
  • Please check the Notice on Real-name Policy for more information
  • One valid identity document can only buy one ticket for a particular train on a specific day
  • Acceptable identity documents: Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents (Home Return Permit), Chinese Resident Identity Card, Chinese Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau, Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan residents, and Foreign Passports recognized by the Chinese Government
  • Please note: Passengers who will use their Chinese Resident Identity Card to purchase HSR tickets must fill in their Chinese name. When using other identity documents, passengers must fill in their English name instead

Child Ticket:

  • Child ticket: Aged 0-17 with a height between 1.2m-1.5m
  • Children measuring below 1.2m in height can travel for free provided they do not occupy a seat and are accompanied by an Adult ticket holder aged 18+
  • If an Adult ticket holder is traveling with more than one child, Child tickets must be purchased for the additional children
  • All Child ticket holders must be accompanied by an Adult ticket holder
  • When a Child ticket is registered with an adult’s personal identity document, passenger must still present the original registered adult personal identity document to collect the Child Ticket

    Comfortable and fast. However, it’s very noisy in the train. It’s better to notice the passenger to keep minimum voice if possible.

    Don't buy from Klook. Klook don't help you to alter the ticket although the ticket clearly states it can be altered once for free. Klook customer service only repeaded "no no no" when I called them.
