What to expect
Depart from Zhangye city center and drive to Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon. Upon arrival, explore the deep canyon and unique peak forests, experiencing the craftsmanship of nature and appreciating the magnificent scenery of the canyon.
In the afternoon, head to Zhangye Colorful Danxia Scenic Area. This is one of the regions in China with the largest and best-developed Danxia landforms and the richest variety of geological formations. Take a sightseeing bus to visit observation decks such as Colorful Immortal Fate Terrace, Colorful Cloud Sea Terrace, Colorful Brocade Terrace, and Colorful Rainbow Glow Terrace, admiring the vibrant and colorful Danxia landforms. We especially recommend watching the sunset at Rainbow Glow Terrace, where the golden sunlight cast upon the Danxia is breathtakingly beautiful.

【One-Day Tour】 After visiting Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon in the morning, return to the hotel for free rest; In the afternoon, from 15:00-15:30, the driver will pick you up at your hotel at the agreed time and depart for Zhangye Colorful Danxia Scenic Area. The entire tour is expected to conclude around 20:30 in the evening, with return to Zhangye city center between 21:00-21:30 (the specific arrival time may be affected by factors such as traffic and weather, and will be subject to actual conditions).
【Half-Day Tour】 In the afternoon, from 15:00-15:30, the driver will pick you up at your hotel at the agreed time, and then depart for Zhangye Colorful Danxia Scenic Area. The entire tour is expected to conclude around 20:30 in the evening, with return to Zhangye city center between 21:00-21:30 (the specific arrival time may be affected by factors such as traffic and weather, and will be subject to actual conditions).

Zhangye Danxia is a must see! Way better and richer colours than the ones in Northern Argentina with much better tourist infrastructure catered for mass tourism albeit most are still local Chinese. Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon is very beautiful too from the top but requires some physical exertion to climb back up from the canyon. Unfortunately, the much longer off-road vehicle and camel track were closed when I went there.
Everything was perfect. Even though I don’t speak Chinese, the tour was smooth. Both parks are absolutely stunning and is worth a visit.
Mr. Xu was our driver. He took care of us well. We are a group of two. one Hong Kong and one Taiwan. Since we do not hold Chinese ID, he needed to walk with us all the way to the ticket office on site and waited in line to buy tickets instead of online in advance. It was extra work to him compared to taking care of the other Chinese guests on the same car, which we appreciated a lot. He was very friendly and shared a lot interesting info about Zhang Ye. He recommended many popular places to eat like a local and we went to two. The whole day trip was uneventful and fun.
Great experience! Even though my WeChay account is blocked I could communicate the whole time with someone via whatsapp which was very convenient. The person spoke very good English, was helpful and friendly. I don't speak English but I had an amazing day. The driver was also very nice. Both Danxia and the Canyon are beautiful and very impressive. I recommend!
The schedule was punctual as planned, and assistance was provided both in the days leading up to and during the tour. The organization was excellent. Both attractions are unique, and the tour is absolutely worth taking.
