Tateyama Kurobe Snow Wall Day Tour (Depart from Nagano)

Departing from Nagano
Snow Wall
  • A giant snow wall as high as 20 meters, walking in it is like being in an ice and snow canyon.
  • You can walk in the "Snow Corridor", which is perfect for taking photos.
  • A giant 186-meter-high dam, with water mist rising into the sky when it releases floodwaters (several times a day, at fixed times).
  • The walking path at the top of the dam overlooks the Kurobe Gorge, and you must eat the "dam curry rice".
  • Japan's longest pillarless cable car, with panoramic glass windows overlooking Lake Kurobe and the Tateyama mountain range.

Good to know

  • Altitude: Murodo (2450m) may cause slight altitude sickness, so avoid running and jumping.
  • Clothing: Windproof jackets are required in all seasons, and thin down jackets are also required in summer. Be sure to wear sunscreen and sunglasses.
  • As the trip coincides with the busy holiday season in Japan, it is expected that there will be a lot of people at tourist attractions, and the length of stay may be adjusted accordingly.
  • In case of serious return delays, please bear the cost of accommodation and taxi fares.
  • Do not pick any flowers and plants while climbing Tateyama Kurobe, and remember to take away the garbage.
  • As there are no toilets during the trip, we recommend that you use the toilets at the station, hotel or other designated areas before departure
  • Except for specific areas such as hotels and stations, most areas in the mountains have weak mobile phone signals.
