What To Expect

Ease into your Portugal vacation with a visit to the most romantic villages of Sintra and the beach destinations of Cascais and Estoril – all just a short 20-minute drive from Lisbon. Spend the day journeying through a variety of plants and trees until you uncover the trails to the Royal Pena National Palace, a gorgeous Moorish landmark built on the ruins of a 16th century monastery overlooking stunning vistas surrounding the Portuguese capital. Along the way, marvel at the naturally formed secret caves before reaching the Queen's Throne, the ultimate attraction to fulfill all your Game of Thrones fantasies. Settle down for a sumptuous lunch break in old Sintra, where you will get to try the delicious local pastries like the Travesseiro and Queijada. The tour continues on with a photo opportunity at the staggering Roca Cape cliffs, easily famous as the western most point of Europe. The lowlands consist of the beautiful Lisbon coastline; walking down the hill, you will pass by the Guinho beach. Move on for a quality relaxation on Cascais Bay, a delightful fishing town nearest to the capital that houses some of the finest beaches in the region. The tour finishes passing by Estoril, yet another fabulous beach spot that extends to the west of Lisbon.

The tour is really good and you really get to see the best of Sintra! The guide Miguel was really knowledgable about Portugal and fed us a lot of insightful info!

For unknown reasons, the guide got my hometown as my name on his records, so that needs to be clarified. The guide was also the driver and knew a great deal about Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. It's a nice trip and a nice chance to explore cities outside Lisbon since I don't have a driver's license and those roads have some very steep curves. We were fortunate to be there with less visitors so we get to explore the palace comfortably. Including the guide and me, there were nine people on the car.

Our guide Andre was very informative. He not only passionately explained the backgrounds of the location visited, but also gave us his recommendation of restaurants and shops, which were excellent. The tour consisted of 8 persons, which was good because all of us had opportunity to communicate with the guide.

Mariella was our guide & she was wonderful. I was a solo traveler & she was eager to take pictures of me whenever I asked. She did a great job describing the architecture & history of things that we saw.

The tour started along the coast with a stop at Cascais, well worth the visit especially Casa Maria. Whole coastline very interesting and wild even on a still day. Then stopped at the furthest point west in Europe - a bit of a tourist trap. After that Sintra, the town centre and Pena Palace. The Palace was the highpoint with weird architecture, beautiful gardens and lots of history. Our guide Andre Carvalho was excellent throughout, with very good command of English and a wide knowledge of all the places we went to. He paced the trip well, drove well and took us to a good place for lunch - not too touristy. The only reason this trip does not get a top mark was Klook's instructions for meet-up. We were told to get there by 8.30 while our guide was told to get there by 9.00 leaving us hanging around in the cold unsure if the trip was going to happen.

Definitely recommend to all of you! Worth to spend your day when you are in Lisbon. Excellent tour guide, Joao ;)

This tour was worth the price. Maria, our tour guide, knows the tricks to maximize our time and avoid the queuing and the crowds. She was generous with information and was very thorough. Pena Palace trip is beautiful, it would have been better if the weather cooperated. It was a rainy day in November and the fog was thick. We weren’t able to see the Atlantic Ocean from the palace. The tours at Old Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril were also equally beautiful. Since Maria managed our time very well, we didn’t feel rushed at any of the stops. We had enough time to eat and shop. I highly recommend this tour.
