The scenic area is mainly divided into two parts: Gankeng Ancient Town and the Ecological Park. Gankeng Ancient Town has ancient buildings, watchtowers, shops and restaurants converted from residential houses, and unique stilt houses by the lake. Worth seeing are the Zhuangyuan Mansion, which has a history of more than 200 years, and the very exquisite Nanxiang Tower with carved beams and painted pillars.

The Ecological Park grows various organic fruits and vegetables and raises many poultry. Tourists can not only enjoy the original ecological pastoral scenery but also pick them by hand, which is a lot of fun.

Eating Hakka cuisine and local snacks is also a major highlight of the scenic area. Salt-baked chicken and Hakka Poon Choi are representative Hakka dishes, which are even more delicious when made with fresh ingredients. You must try them.
