Reviews
Visiting the Military Museum and the prison in Hanoi was a really meaningful experience, especially as a first-time visitor to Vietnam. It was great to learn more about the country’s history and gain context for the places we’ve been seeing around the city. Darcy was incredibly patient with all of our questions and was clearly very knowledgeable about Vietnam’s history, which made the tour even more engaging. One thing to note is that weekend visits can get quite crowded due to students, and a half-day tour can feel a little rushed if you want to explore everything in detail. It might be helpful if there were options for both half-day and full-day tours for visitors who want to dive deeper into the history.
it was a very informative and eye opening experience. Our tour guide, Ivy was also very intelligent, eloquent, and was able to answer every question we had about history and facts around the museums. i highly recommend this tour.
the tour was super informative and entertaining super thanks to our tour guide, Linh, super professional and superb English speaking skills esp for a Vietnamese local. The best tour we had within our itinerary because of Linh. 👏
Lawrence was an absolutely amazing guide, full of information and you could tell how proud he was to be Vietnamese. Lawrence was punctual, polite and a very nice person to spend a couple hours with. highly recommend
it was unfortunate that we were not able to go to the first stop bec of the flood. we enjoyed the prison though! it would’ve been nicer if Brian told us some more info about while going around the prison, but still, all in all it was a good experience.
The tour was really top tier. We were able to see the Vietnam Military History Museum and Hoa Lo Prison. Our guide, Mr. Kien was able to make the tour not just fun but very informative. He was not just knowledgeable about the culture, history and language of Vietnam which he was able to share with us, but also he was approachable whenever we have concerns about the tour.
Visiting Vietman Military History Museum and Hoa Lo Prison with the guide, Darcy, who is professional and really good at telling the story about the history. We enjoyed our trip today and also gained a lots of knowledge about the Vietnam history.
I booked this tour because I'm interested in Vietnam's history, especially its modern history. I participated with my high school-aged child, and our guide, Tuan, explained everything in easy-to-understand Japanese. It seemed to make my child reflect deeply on what they had learned in world history, seeing it firsthand. The Vietnam Military History Museum is apparently less crowded on weekdays, so if you want to take your time, a weekday might be better. I recommend preparing cash for the ticket fee, as it's paid on-site.
Every tourist must book this activity coz you will know and learn about the history of their country Vietnam. It struck my heart when i was in the prison seeing the peoples sacrifices and tortures. It really made my heart heavy. our Tour guide was very accommodating. going extra mile with her service. and whats flattering, she already scanned my profile before we meet so it feels like she can easily adapt to us. Thats a very good idea Phuong Anh :)
Guide spoke excellent english and was very caring during the tour. He was also very informative and gave detailed and interesting insights into the history of the places visited. As it was a Monday, Military History Museum was closed so the tour started at the Air Defence Musuem which had a vast display of various equipment and vehicles used in the Vietnam War. The next destination was Hoa Lo Prison where prisoners were held during the French occupation of Vietnam. Very rich history and highly recommended for history buffs visiting Vietnam. Thank you for also helping to take photos and your excellent service!
