Thrill seekers around the world, experienced or beginners, looking to face off with the elements have come to the West Coast to take on its largest glacier: the famous Fox Glacier, in the heart of Fox Valley. Accompanied by an experienced English speaking guide, this incredible nine hour journey begins with an early breakfast that you will certainly need for this arduous adventure. Your briefing begins as you start gearing up. Your safety equipment and technical gear will be provided, so make sure you're safe and snug before getting into the helicopter to begin the adventure. In the air, you soar over the gorgeous sights of Fox Valley, with its rolling mountainsides covered in sparse greens. Don't miss spotting Mount Cook and Mount Tasman as you make your ascent. Not long after, you will make your way over the valley to where the trails of white snow and ice lead up to the breathtaking Fox Glacier itself. Admire this powerful glacier in all its majesty, before landing right on it, ready to blaze your trail. Ford the crevasses, use your rope, ascends short ice pitches, and so much more. This will be an exhilarating battle against snow and ice as you make your way through. Don't worry about the water: it is plentiful and some of the purest water you will ever drink. Six hours will be spent right on the ice before the helicopter takes you safely back to the base, where you'll bring home incredible memories (and a souvenir t-shirt!) of your glacier adventure.
