Stepping into the restaurant, you'll be deeply attracted by the simple yet elegant decor, with pavilions, terraces, and painted beams and carved pillars, every detail revealing the nobility and refinement of the royal family. - The performances here are even more stunning. The actors are dressed in gorgeous palace costumes, dancing gracefully. Their eyes are focused and agile, and every movement is full of power and grace. Light steps, agile posture, and melodious music make people intoxicated. Absolutely mesmerizing. So much to see, and food is good! They do serve a bit quickly so may have to eat a bit faster cos there’s constantly smth to watch! The whole experience takes 1.5hrs. There’s also a museum to visit and take photos at before the meal so do arrive early to enjoy it.
The cuisines are awesome and the restaurant explained each imperial dish’s history to us both on their menu and on screen. The performances are also great and really made us feel that we had travelled back to the imperial years attending imperial feasts.
This was a unique and memorable experience, not just a meal but a full cultural immersion. The atmosphere truly feels royal, making you feel like you’ve stepped back into imperial China. The setting is elegant and beautifully designed, perfect for photos. The food was well-presented and flavorful, with each dish carefully prepared to reflect traditional royal cuisine. What made the experience even more special were the live performances — graceful, entertaining, and well-timed throughout the meal. They added a lot of charm and really enhanced the overall experience. Overall, it’s a wonderful place for anyone who wants to enjoy traditional culture, performances, and a refined dining experience. Highly recommended for visitors looking for something unique in Beijing. 👑✨
Very interesting concept. Dining with non-stop performances. Food were delicious. Service was excellent and immersive especially when you are in 1st row. A lot of interaction with the performers/wait staffs.
I think it was definitely value for money and worth every penny! The variety of costumes and accessories was fantastic, and the makeup service was high quality—they were incredibly fast and efficient! Each of us took less than 30 minutes from costume fitting to makeup and hairdo. The ladies at work were absolutely helpful and so rofessional!
The experience is mind blowing! Just looking by the scale of how the museum is decked up on top of the full dining experience have given more than the ticket price. It really transport you back to time! Food wise is great too! Highly recommended!
easy to book. tour coordinator confirmed booking within the day. didn't try the costume. the song and dance were beautiful. food is delicious. we had the front row seat. experience is different from back row seats. should give it a try.
Amazing experience! Highly recommended. The place is beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful and the performances are very entertaining. I joined the Imperial Lunch, it starts 12:00 sharp so, be there at 11:00 to get your paper ticket with your seat assignment, explore the museum and be taken to your seat. Once you arrive at the venue, you are greeted by the staff, it is so sweet, then you go to the ticket office, grab your ticket, now you are free to explore (2nd and 4th floor are really nice), then, you go to the main hall and the staff will take you to your seat. By the way, front row seats are really worth it! As a foreigner, I thought I would miss out on the speaking content but they have subtitles, which made a lot of difference. Food was delicious and the performances were very beautiful. It was over around 13:30.
We absolutely loved our experience at the Beijing Royal Cuisine Museum / Imperial Feast (Yu Xiandu). Highlights: • The performance and theatrical segments were exceptional. There were many different moments of dance, storytelling, and drama, with a large cast of performers. Their costumes were beautifully varied and richly detailed. • With first-row tickets, the experience was even more immersive. The performers served guests directly and individually, and the view was unbeatable. • Service was impeccable throughout. The staff were attentive, graceful. • For just 100 yuan, guests can borrow a costume to dress up. This added immersion and many memorable photo opportunities. • The food was intriguing. Some dishes were outside what we’re used to in Europe, but that’s part of the charm. Tips for future visitors: • The show and dinner happen together, so you might find yourself multitasking between eating, watching, and snapping photos - a fun little challenge!

My wife did the makeup, hair, and clothing. i also did the clothing. it was amazing! very hard to explain unless you are there. i will definitely, definitely, definitely recommend going here. The food was delicious, and the staff super friendly. they where patient since we fo not know any Chinese, English is our first language. They really took care of us and helped us the entire way. oh, and we did a photo shoot 😊. definitely a 10 out of 10 experience.
