What to expect
- Pre-departure notice: The day before your trip, between approximately 18:00 and 21:00, we will send you detailed guide and vehicle information via email. Please be sure to check it in time.
- Today, we will visit two areas, Sanzen-in and Arashiyama. It will be a fulfilling trip, starting now.
- First stop: Sanzen-in. Sanzen-in is located in Ohara, Rakuhoku, Kyoto, and is one of the three Monzeki temples of the Tendai sect. Within the vast temple grounds, there are ancient trees reaching for the sky, moss-covered grounds, and flowing streams. Cherry blossoms in April, azaleas in May, hydrangeas in July, and autumn leaves provide delightful natural scenery throughout the year. "Jubien" and "Yuseien," two pond-spring gardens designed by Soetsu Kanamori, are the best places to view the seasonal scenery of Sanzen-in. It is a great place to experience traditional Japanese religious culture and nature.
- Second stop: Arashiyama. The Arashiyama area consists of the Arashiyama and Sagano areas. This area not only has abundant cultural attractions, but also natural scenery that changes with the seasons and a retro-style scenic train. There are many ancient temples and shrines concentrated here, and Tenryu-ji Temple is a world heritage site. The bamboo grove path between Nonomiya Shrine and Okochi Sanso Villa is famous. As a famous spot for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, Arashiyama attracts a large number of tourists every spring and autumn. Tickets for the Sagano Scenic Railway are often hard to come by (it is recommended to book tickets online in advance), while the winter and summer seasons are very quiet, making it suitable for travelers who like tranquility. The Arashiyama area has many long-established restaurants, Japanese confectionery shops, and cute general merchandise stores. You can also rent kimonos and rickshaws, making it a great place to slow down. At the Randen Arashiyama Station, there is a Japanese-style foot bath, which is modeled after JR Kyushu’s Yufuin Station. If you buy seasonal sweets at the shop next to it, you can enjoy the foot bath while tasting them. Let the waters of Arashiyama Onsen thoroughly eliminate the fatigue after your walk. These attractions each have their own characteristics, forming a rich and colorful one-day tour of Kyoto. we had a nice day of day tour. we had our time to enjoy the old temple and also the bamboo path. we also hired pulled rickshaw to lead us go around the city. we had a lot of fun and took a lot of pics
Sanzen-in Temple is a bit difficult to reach on your own, so a day tour is a comfortable way to visit. Our driver, Mr. Li Jun, provided excellent assistance and helped us complete our day trip smoothly! He was always available to provide appropriate service whenever we had questions during the trip.
Since there were only a few participants, we were very grateful for the complimentary hotel transfer service. The friendly driver was very kind, and we thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Thank you very much!
Appreciated the serene gardens at Sanzen-ji temple. Can buy tea set for 600 yen with matcha and Japanese sweet to enjoy in this setting. Tour guide Alvin is detailed and knowledgeable.
Our guide, Babe, was amazing 👍 and so thoughtful. I have absolutely no sense of direction, and my whole family was relying on me. So, in Arashiyama, on the busy streets, along the bamboo forest path, and when meeting for the return trip, the guide kept sending me screenshots with arrows pointing the way, so we could relax, eat, drink, and enjoy the beautiful scenery while experiencing the scenic train. Highly recommended!
Basically, buying a one-day tour on this platform is the itinerary I would arrange when traveling alone. It is convenient and the price is not too high. This time I chose to buy it on this platform again. This time the driver was a group driver. There were not many people and he treated me like family, which made me feel at ease.

Good to know
- Infants aged 0-2 can ride free of charge on laps without a seat. Please indicate this in the special notes. Children aged 3 and above are considered adults.
- Does not include the Sagano Scenic Railway ticket. It is difficult to purchase tickets on-site, so it is recommended to book this train online in advance: Outbound: Sagano (15:02) - Kameoka Station (15:25), travel time approximately 20 minutes Return: Kameoka Station (15:30) - Sagano (15:56), travel time approximately 20 minutes (The Sagano Scenic Railway is closed for winter maintenance in January and February).
- During the tour, please carry your passport and valuables with you and keep them safe. Please be responsible for any loss, theft, or damage.
- Elderly individuals, those with high blood pressure, heart disease, or other cardiovascular conditions, and pregnant women are recommended to participate with a relative.
- This tour does not accept solo applications from customers under the age of 18. If you wish to apply, please have a guardian apply for this tour together.
- This tour is a shared and fixed itinerary. Customers participating in this tour must adhere to the stop times at each attraction and follow the instructions of the driver-guide.
- No refunds will be given for failure to participate or termination of the tour due to personal reasons or lateness. Please be aware of this.
