What to expect

Take a look around this wonderful monastery atmosphere, which has a special calm and aura. Perhaps you will visit the various gardens with 1000 roses, or perhaps you will have time to visit the two museums or savour the regional cuisine in the restaurant.

When you book the tasting session, you taste five different Ittingen wines from our own winery independently. The wines are described in detail and you can also learn interesting facts about the history of wine on site. In addition, you can sample sausage from our own butcher's shop and various types of cheese from our own cheese dairy.

Afterwards, you can purchase some of the flavours of Kartause Ittingen in the monastery shop; there are around 200 home-made products to choose from.

Good to know

  • Plan enough time for your visit. There are two museums in Ittingen Charterhouse: the Ittingen Museum, which shows the life of the monks who used to live here, and the Art Museum, which focuses on art brut and contemporary art.
