Train Like a Samurai in Tokyo!
What is an Iaito? An Iaito is a specialized practice sword used in the Japanese martial art of Iaido (the art of drawing the sword).
An Iaito is a specialized practice sword used in the Japanese martial art of Iaido (the art of drawing the sword). While it looks nearly identical to a real Japanese sword (Shinken), it is specifically designed to be non-sharpened for safety during training.
Most Iaito are crafted from a high-quality zinc-aluminum alloy. This material is intentionally used because it cannot hold a sharp edge, meaning it is not classified as a weapon under Japanese law and does not require a permit.
Put on traditional samurai attire, learn real katana techniques from expert instructors, and try your hand at ninja star throwing

Reviews
Our sensei Ryo-san was absolutely fantastic. He led both a very informative as well as fun Samurai experience. I sadly wasn't able to join the museum tour as I needed to go to the airport, but I have done it at the Kyoto museum and know how much I would have enjoyed it once more.
I booked the Samurai and Ninja Experience, which included a museum tour. I didn't have any particular expectations beforehand, but I have to say it was a ton of fun. The guides on site speak incredibly good English, and the training session with Sensei Ryo, who showed us a sword sequence, was fantastic. He had everyone laughing with his sense of humor. I would book it again anytime, thank you!
The check in was super organized and simple. Koki was an awesome samurai teacher! I learned a lot and it was a fun experience at the same time.
Amazing experience. I learned things about Japan’s history thanks to the knowledgeable staff. Experienced being a samurai and it was so much fun! highly recommended. Ryo-sensei is also really good at taking photos so don’t miss it 😆
The venue was great at balancing the educational side of samurai and ninja but also the fun side; the shuriken throwing and sword practice was a highlight. Kenny was a fantastic and entertaining instructor and made the experience very rewarding. I would recommend
I really enjoyed this activity. Special thanks to Kenny for slotting me in last minute. ✨
Highly recommend this tour with the sword lesson. The museum tour is very insightful and you learn a lot about the history of samuri. The sword lesson with the sensei is very in depth. We really enjoyed and appreciated the tour.
