Reviews

Similar to the London one but London one is more 3D including the graphics reflected in the ground. This one let you feel more historical. Bad thing is the graphic is not keep on running and looping. You need to wait for 5 to 10 mins to re-start up the music and graphics.
A 10-minute projection mapping! It's small, but the images are beautiful and the collaboration of history and modern technology is moving! If you go first thing in the morning, you can enjoy it to the fullest!
The technological lighting and impression designs are stunning.
Not much to see just a bunch of columns and audio guide did not work so no details on what seeing. There was a nice brief sound and light show presented without commentary. I would recommend the Basilica cistern over this one by far.
complete scam. tiny room, one door was closed and no Lightshow. I’ll keep this review as short as my stay in the cistern. save the 20€ and don’t go.
In the end, the time was too late and I couldn't enter. A local Turkish person told me it was okay because it was open until 10pm, so I prioritized other places. However, there was actually a time for foreigners and a time for Turkish people, and after 7pm only Turkish people were allowed in. A Turkish girl who was waiting in line told me about this, but she looked very apologetic. Apparently there is a light show every hour. It's a shame because I wanted to see it.
Buying tickets through Klook and entering was very smooth, and the ticket attendant was very friendly! Before entering, we asked about the light show and how long the visit would take. To our surprise, he said the light show was canceled last month because the contract ended and wasn't renewed. We were so disappointed! After entering, there was supposed to be an elevator to go down, but it wasn't operating, probably to save money! My knees aren't good, so I had to walk down the stairs step by step. After reaching the bottom, we only stayed for about 15 minutes to take photos because the underground palace was really small! The tickets cost almost HK$200 per person, but we couldn't even spend half an hour there. We felt cheated.
The ticket could not be used, and the clerk said that the ticket had already been used. Fortunately, I was the first attraction I visited after getting off the plane. After showing the ticket to the clerk, he believed that I had just arrived today and let me in.

The Cistern was built between 428 and 443. Emperor Theodosius named the Cistern after himself. It was part of the main water system of the city. There was a lack of water sources in the town. This leads the Byzantines to build lots of cisterns to save as much rainwater as they can, in these cisterns. They used the water from these cisterns, only in an emergency, during droughts or sieges. The Cistern is made of brick, local limestones, and hydraulic mortar. It is around 24x40 meters. Thirty-two marble columns, with Corinthian-style capitals, are supporting the roof. It was restored very well recently and opened as a museum to the public.
