What to expect
To start things off, we meet at the Three Kings Monument, where participants will receive a safety briefing and learn about King Mangrai, the first King of the Lanna Kingdom and the founder of Chiang Mai, the second-largest city in Thailand.
Our first stop on this 2.5-hour guided tour is Wat Phra Sing, the second most revered temple in Chiang Mai, known for its distinctive architecture featuring intricate woodcarvings and northern Thai-style murals. From there, the group will continue to Wat Chedi Luang, a 600-year-old site with fascinating ruins, which was originally built by King Mangrai. Apart from seeing the beautiful temple premises, there will also be an opportunity to listen to talks by monks, before concluding the tour.

Reviews
it was a worthy 2 hour walk in the city with our tour guide Kitty. he was considerate to wait for us at the meeting point since we got stuck in a traffic . he explained everything very well; the signs, symbols, and what every design represent in their cultures and religion.
The female guide provided very detailed explanations, allowing us to understand the history of Chiang Mai, the stories and details behind the temples, and she was also very enthusiastic about helping us take photos. There are many things worth experiencing and seeing in the temple, such as the sacred water blessing where a white string is tied to your wrist, zodiac runes, applying gold leaf, etc. I recommend striking the bronze gong three times to make a wish, as the resonating sound is very healing and calming. The auspicious beasts and murals in the temple architecture all have meanings and stories, which you can listen to and ask questions about in detail. You can also learn about the temple's school and how it interacts with the community on a daily basis. Many poor families send their children to the temple school for free education, but they can still choose to become monks or return to secular life when they come of age. The temple also buys crops or fruits from farmers and distributes them to local residents for free. I highly recommend joining this historical and cultural exploration tour. Along the way, recommended local shops and food will also be introduced. If needed, you can also take some time to stop by (Number One Brand Shop, Akha Ama Coffee).
Khun Bim Bim from Discova is really such gracious host and guide very insightful and full of smile and hospitality she will guide you wholeheartedly and explain about the rich culture of Lanna kingdom and northern Thailand. A two-hour walking tour of the ancient city. I happened to be there on Temple Day and visited the Three Kings Monument, Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara, and Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan. The guide provided a detailed introduction to Chiang Mai's history, temple etiquette, religious stories, and murals. I learned a lot! I also rode in a local "songthaew" taxi, which was a fantastic experience.
Thank you so much Bim! You really love what you do and thank you for all the awesome information. She also takes very nice photos and the tour went smoothly. Chiang Mai City is indeed a big museum and not just only a historical landmark. Highly recommended! Please book Bim as your guide.
