Begin the tour with a drive up by coach or by minibus to Fiesole, a lovely town founded by the Etruscans on the hills overlooking Florence and the Arno Valley from the north. Enjoy spectacular views framed by cypresses and olive groves that cover the hill slopes. After driving back to Florence, get out near the river Arno and continue on foot through medieval streets, to the east of the old city center. Walk past the Franciscan Basilica of Santa Croce, a historic location where figures such as Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galileo, and many other famous people were buried. Go to the spectacular Piazza della Signoria, where you can admire the place or the Palazzo Becchio, as well as the harmonious Loggia della Signoria. See many statues by Cellini, Giambologna, Ammannati, and others adorning the square. The trip continues with a guided tour of the famous Uffizi Gallery, where you can follow the development of Christian paintings and take a look at superb works by Cimabue, Giotto, Masaccio, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, and plenty more! If you happen to book the tour on a Monday, the Uffizi Gallery will be replaced with a visit to the Museum of Palazzo Vecchio, the political headquarters and house of the Medici family. Your tour will end inside the museum, where you can have some free time to explore a little further on your own.
