Reviews
Thank you to the tour guide Yama and the driver for their competent and friendly service, which allowed everyone (a total of 17 people in our group) to have a wonderful day. The whole itinerary was arranged smoothly, especially the lunch. The meal was delicious and the environment was warm and elegant. I also had my own time at Zenkoji Temple. The wine tasting at Nishimon allowed me to buy my favorite plum wine and miso. I was very happy! Thanks
One of our most memorable days from our current trip in Japan! Everything was smooth and we had a lot of fun! We started by going to see the monkeys in the morning (which was great because it was less crowded). The lunch provided was great (we could choose beef/seafood/vegetarian for the main dish). The temple and the sake tasting were next to each other in Nagano so we only needed three long transfers by bus (about 1 hr each). Our guide Lindsay gave us plenty of context for both the monkey park and the temple and she facilitated the sake tasting (we sampled around 10 types of drinks). She was friendly, approachable for extra questions and very knowledgeable on the tour attractions and more from around Japan. I highly recommend this tour!
Snow Monkey Tours — A Day That Stays With You There are tours that move you from place to place, and there are tours that move something inside you. Snow Monkey Tours did the latter. (Please read on--I couldn't fit the whole review here.)
The guide, Lin, knows a lot and is very friendly. Plus, she speaks Japanese, English, and Spanish. Highly recommended.
This is a well organized tour. The pickup point is conveniently located at the central bus terminal. Since the weather is very cold, I stayed in the sheltered area and the tour guide took the initiative to walk through the area to fetch me. He was well prepared and reminded us to get crampons so we can walk safely during the snow season. The snow monkeys are cute and the lunch is amazing. Enjoyed striding in the historic temple and the guide shared his knowledge on its legacy which made the trip even more meaningful. Last stop to sake shop is equally fun, with traditional and fruitty sake all on offer. Overall this is wonderful trip which I highly recommend to people who don't ski or would like a day off from their skiing vacation.
Lynn our guide was very knowledgeable and fun. the snow monkeys were amazing and so cute! Lunch was delicious. And the sake tasting was also really good. Lynn again was super knowledgeable and they had non-alcoholic versions for the kiddos. the tour was well paced, with walking interrupting the bus rides.
An amazing day, our guide Shawn was very knowledgeable, a great guide. The monkeys are very cute, and the rest of the day was great. We had an amazing day and I would highly reccomend this tour.
