Reviews summaryThis was the highlight of our trip! The scenery in Shirakawa-go is like a postcard come to life. Our guide(Wang) was wonderful—very accommodating and went out of his way to help us with questions and photos. He even provided must try food and places to see. Everything was well-organized from start to finish. Don't miss this if you're in Japan!
It was excellent, everything was great. We went on a tour with guide Wangjie. This tour allowed us to visit all three locations in one day. The time management was very good. Although we couldn't spend much time strolling around and enjoying the atmosphere, it was definitely worth it to visit all three places in a single day.
if you prefer to explore with minimal guide and discover the places on your own, I highly recommend this. Moe, our tour guide provided highlights on how to explore around (what to eat, must see, etc) and gave us the freedom to explore the way we prefer it. A lot of places to see so can be fast paced but I think this is the best way to maximize if you have limited time. will definitely be back and stay around Gifu area. This tour already provided a great experience that's one for the books.
This tour covering Gujo Hachiman, Takayama, and Shirakawago was absolutely worth it and exceeded my expectations. The experience was very immersive and perfectly paced, making it great value for the price and time. Our English guide, Moe, was extremely accommodating and professional. She is proficient in English, Japanese, and Chinese, which made explanations very clear and smooth for everyone in the group. She also gave excellent recommendations for top local food spots and the best scenic photo locations, which really elevated the experience. Each destination had its own charm, but Shirakawago was the highlight of the tour—the views were simply breathtaking and unforgettable. It was truly the most amazing scene of the entire trip. Overall, this tour is well-organized, informative, and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Japan who wants a meaningful and scenic cultural experience 🇯🇵✨
It was truly a great bus trip ^_^. I was a little worried about my first solo bus trip, but the guide was really wonderful and I had everything I needed. He was friendly, with a smile and kind service to everyone, fluent in Chinese, English, and Japanese (Mr. Ishimaru, a half-Chinese, half-Japanese man). There's more, but for me as a solo traveler, he taught me a lot about the key points of the trip (famous places, shrines, delicious restaurants, what to eat, etc.), so it was a satisfying day. Also, the content of this tour was Gujo → Takayama → Shirakawa-go and a plan to go to Gujo, but the cost performance was so good that it was really valuable! The time at each location wasn't long, but I was very satisfied because I was guided to the highlights! The driver was also helpful with safe driving. Thank you very much. This tour is really recommended for those who are thinking about a bus trip from now on. I would like to participate again if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much. *Due to capacity limitations, I could only upload this many photos... (tears)*
I'm very satisfied with today's trip, collecting three important attractions in one go. I'm most satisfied with our guide, Lily (Xiao Fu), who provided friendly and professional explanations throughout the journey in three languages (English, Chinese, and Japanese), focusing on key points. The flowing water in Gujo Hachiman town was beautiful. In Takayama, following Lily's recommended route and schedule, I enjoyed delicious Takayama ramen and Hida beef sushi, and bought enough souvenirs and keepsakes. There was also plenty of time to take photos and stroll around in Shirakawa-go. I'm most grateful that everyone on the bus was punctual today, returning to the bus on time, making the trip super smooth. As planned, we returned to Nagoya at 7 p.m. ~ I enjoyed a perfect day of travel.
I've experienced Shirakawa-go and Takayama tours before, but this was my first time on a tour that included Gujo Hachiman. I chose this tour because it included Gujo Hachiman, as I had already visited Shirakawa-go and other places, and I found the quiet town and charming alleys very appealing. Visiting Gujo Hachiman meant arriving at Takayama and Shirakawa-go about 1-2 hours later than a typical tour, but thanks to that, we arrived when most people were leaving, so it was relatively less crowded. This made it really great for sightseeing^^ It seemed like it had been snowing on and off since the night before, but as the afternoon of the tour arrived, it snowed heavily, and we were able to see very beautiful scenery in both Takayama and Shirakawa-go. Our guide, Mr. Wang, was very kind, polite, and provided detailed guidance in Chinese, English, and Japanese. He must have been tired from explaining in three languages, but he didn't show it at all and explained very diligently. The explanations in the vehicle were also detailed, and we could choose whether to join him or explore freely during the local tours. If I have another chance to go, I would choose this tour again. Thanks to guide Mr. Wang, it was an even more enjoyable and pleasant trip. The driving was also very comfortable. Thank you very much!
This 11hr tour (from meet-up and back to Nagoya Station) was 100% value for money! The tour guide, John Lee, thoroughly explained our 3-destination itinerary, from history to significance in Nagoya. He's very knowledgeable! Also, he was very courteous, polite and made sure everybody in the bus "fastened their seatbelts". Kudos to our driver as well. He driver carefully and was very attentive. We started at Gujo Hachiman, then Takayama and lastly Shirakawago. It was a dream come true for me seeing the fresh snowfall covered houses in Shirakawago. Been wanting to visit this Unesco Heritage Site and it was definitely a sight for sore eyes! Over-all I would give this a 10/10 rating.
Really worth it trip. It’s the highlight of my 2026 Japan trip. Shirakawago in winter is magical like straight from a story book or snow globe. Meet up point is easy to get to as it’s just in front of Nagoya Station. I was even from Kyoto and found the meeting place easily despite the ongoing construction of the landmark. One suggestion though is to shorten the time in Takayama and add it to Shirakawago as 1.5hrs isn’t enough to explore the area. The guide is also very kind. Kudos to Anny-san, she is very professional and considerate. Over-all really recommend tour!
It was such a fun and great experience for me. My wish was granted and be able to experience snow in Shirakagawa-go for the first time. I wasnt able to reach the viewing deck due to heavy snow and I dont have umbrella with me. However the village view is so majestic itself.. The other two we visited were also good and peaceful. Kudos to our guide, he is very knowledgeable in all three locations. It always amaze me to see people speaking in different languages. Thanks to the driver as well. Overall, this tour was worth the time and price.
