Nordic Nature: Two-Hour Snowshoeing by Lake Inari
- This excursion will take you to the hills on the shores of Lake Inari, a location recognized by CNN (and us!) as one of the most beautiful places in Europe.
- Depending on the snow depth and structure of the day, we will choose either traditional snowshoes or modern gliding snowshoes for our trek. We will pack some hot drinks and snacks, and get ready to explore the peaceful winter forest and hills.
- Learn about the unique flora and fauna of the region in Taiga Forest.
- Observe and photograph the beautiful scenery, including views of the expansive Lake Inari.
What to expect
Our journey begins in the taiga forests, where you’ll learn about the unique flora and fauna of the region. The snow-covered forest and trees create a perfect environment for spotting and identifying animal tracks and birds. As we make our way through the forest, you’ll have opportunities to observe and photograph the beautiful scenery, including views of the expansive Lake Inari. We recommend this activity for those aged 12 and up. For younger children, we offer a Winter Fun Day option, ensuring everyone can enjoy the snowy landscapes in a way that suits them best. Good to know
What to bring?
- Layered Underclothing: To stay warm and comfortable during the trek, we recommend wearing multiple layers. Thermal underwear, a warm mid-layer, and a weather-resistant outer layer are ideal. (We can help with these!)
- Hat, Gloves, and Scarf: Essential for protecting against the cold and keeping you warm.
- Camera or Smartphone: Capture the beautiful scenery and memorable moments along the trek.
Optional:
- Winter Overalls: If you don’t have suitable winter clothing, we offer the option to rent overalls and boots from us.
