Fener, Balat, Old Greek and Jewish Quarter Tour in Istanbul

Interesting tour with a fascinating history which was unknown for me in front of the tour. The tour guide covered Jewish, orthodox and Greek history from this area. The walking tour included also unesco heritage houses. I recommend this tour for people interesting in history.

Omer is so knowledgeable about the history of the area, which is truly colorful , full of cafes and houses that speak of a certain time and the historic Orthodox chuch with an added bonus of having a special service during our visit. He is very considerate both for our comfort and safety. Thanks Omer for a fascinating tour of a beautiful place that showcases Istanbul's diversity. ❤️

Our tour guide, Pao, was incredibly accommodating and patient. He made the tour exciting, even with all the walking we did. I really enjoyed seeing the houses in Fener and Balat—it was a lot of fun!

We took tram 2 to reach Fener area. Walked to visit a few sites. The guide was friendly and gave quite a bit of information. The 30min tea break was at Balat area. It was a good tour, but considering the sites we visited and the time we spent on the tour, the price was expected to be lower. The group size was 4. I think maybe the higher price is due to fewer participants, or vice versa

Omer created a walking tour in which you are uncovering Fener and Balat through discovery and revealing their hidden secrets and the intricate narratives of the minor groups (Jewish and Greek) in the Ottoman Empire. The walking tour included the UNESCO heritage dwellings, scenic staircases, panoramic views, mosques, churches, and synagogues. Experiencing the daily rhythm of life and hearing the stories of how life was of the past, including co-existence is a tour for people interesting in history, or have a connection to this place through culture. Your in very good hands with Omer. His passionate about the topic, punctual, attentive and organised.😉

had a great trip guided by Omer who spent 3 hours went through the history with us which was fascinating. from the days the Jews built up the rich area followed by the locals moved in and painted the houses with different colors to attract tourists. served with afternoon tea and showed us different types of pastries. we ended up walking up a steep hill and had a great view from the top of the hill. would highly recommend this tour if you want to visit Fener and Balat.

Burak is a very knowledgeable and friendly guide! I had fun exploring the Balat and Fener, definitely a great way to spend a nice afternoon in Istanbul exploring the different neighbourhoods and burning some calories!
