Absolutely loved the Thai cooking class experience! Highly recommend it to those who aren't keen on the typical tourist traps and want to truly immerse themselves in the local culture. I was the only one in the morning class, which meant a private, one-on-one lesson – score! 😆 Before the class started, June took me on a tuk-tuk ride to explore a traditional market. She introduced me to some Thai street food and pointed out what you can buy there. This was a truly authentic market, the kind where you hardly see any tourists. When we got to the fish stalls, June mentioned that you can buy fish to release into the river for good luck – eels for wealth, turtles for longevity, and doctor fish for health. You can even order fish remotely via Line and have the vendors release them for you! While I don't fully agree with the practice, it was quite interesting. The Thai cooking class involved making four dishes: Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, Chicken Curry, and Mango Sticky Rice. June explained the ingredients and shared some historical tidbits along the way. The cooking process was very chill, and every dish was incredibly delicious 🥹. It really proves that with the right ingredients, Thai food can be incredibly authentic. The most unique part was grinding the curry paste from scratch, starting with the spices (you can buy pre-made paste at the market, but freshly ground is definitely more fragrant!). Each dish was perfectly portioned for one person, and we ate them hot off the stove. I left feeling full and happy – it was fantastic! 😆
I think this activity is great. Compared to the class I took in Chiang Mai many years ago, this teacher speaks more fluent Chinese and is more thought-provoking. At the beginning of the course, we went to a wet market with over 60 years of history. After the teacher's explanation, we learned about the history of each stall and the general market conditions of the products. It seems that participating on the first day is very helpful for the subsequent itinerary. After that, we made Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, curry, and mango sticky rice together. The explanation was very detailed, so much so that I should be able to recreate them well after returning to my country.
Our teacher was amazing and very sweet. It was so cool learning how to make the dishes I love so much. Learned a lot from this class and made such delicious food that all other dishes I’ve had before and will have in the future cannot compare.
What a fantastic Thai cooking experience! The instructor was very patient, explaining every step carefully, from ingredient preparation and chopping to seasoning and cooking. Even without any prior experience, it was easy to follow along. I learned to make several classic Thai dishes, including Tom Yum Goong, Pad Thai, and Pad Krapow. It was incredibly rewarding to cook them myself, and they tasted authentic! The whole class had a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, and the experience was excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Thai food! ❤️🇹🇭
The classroom environment is very clean. First, you take a tuk-tuk to the market where they introduce commonly used spices and you buy the necessary ingredients. Then, you return to the classroom for the hands-on cooking. The class flow is very smooth, and the teacher is very friendly. They take photos during the class and send them to the students. I'll definitely sign up again next time I'm in Bangkok if they have updated dishes. Reminder: Remember to check the sauces and seasonings bought at the market as checked baggage; they will be confiscated and thrown away by customs if you put them in your carry-on luggage.
This was my first time trying a Thai cooking class, where I learned to make Pad Thai and Tom Yum Goong. The restaurant was clean and tidy, with beautiful decor. Our teacher, June, spoke excellent Chinese and explained everything patiently and humorously. It was an incredible value for the price of a single meal!
This was such a high-quality, value-for-money experience! From riding a tuk-tuk to the market in the morning and experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of a century-old market, to the hands-on teaching in class, June was incredibly patient and spoke excellent Chinese. I learned so much, and most importantly, the food we made was incredibly delicious. It was a truly fulfilling and wonderful experience that lasted until noon. Absolutely fantastic!
Best of the best! June is very friendly and kind, not only the cooking, but she told us many about the background or even history of the food! The market visit just make this trip different, meet the locals and get to know the culture! The class was also so well prepared!
Took the morning Chinese class. Love the visit to the local Thai market. Teacher June made Thai cooking simple to follow and also shared tips to cooking. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to start their journey on Thai cooking!
I participated with my 12-year-old son. Juney's explanation was thorough, her attitude was friendly, and the four dishes we made were all successful. It was a very good experience. I joined the experience with my 12-year-old son. Juney is very serious and kind. Every dish is so tasty. It's a successful experience. I'll recommend it to everyone.
