Basically, taxi drivers are very friendly. The language barrier is a bit of a problem. If you use a translation app, there won't be much of a problem. Kagoshima itself doesn't have many tourist attractions, so the average itinerary is limited to shrines, gardens, and observatories. It's okay to use the time between the airport and the hotel, and the cost-effectiveness is not bad.
Cozy San was a wonderful guide! She’s very knowledgeable about Sakurajima, Kagoshima and Japan as a whole. We learned a lot about Sakurajima, the history and the present. My son, Michael and I are very grateful to her for a wonderful experience. She made our trip a memorable one and we appreciate all the pictures she took of us. Cozy San domo arigatu gozaimas te! Our guide, Aya was a lovely lady who was very knowledgeable and took us to amazing places. We loved the visit to the pottery shop. You were not rushed and everything went smoothly. Highly recommend.
Fantastic tour guide! Passionate about Kagoshima and very knowledgeable. He always took things at a slower pace for us older folks, waiting and keeping us together. Highly recommended! Tour guide Xu Jie is fluent in English, Chinese, and Japanese and a truly enthusiastic guide. Highly recommended for those planning independent travel!
This was a great tour. Yuki was wonderful and gave so much info. This tour covered so much in 1/2 a day and it was a great pace.
Mr. Li is very kind and extremely talkative. With his explanations and arrangements, I felt very at ease!
Our guide Yoshi was cheerful and helpful throughout the tour, even though there aas heavy rain during the entire trip, obscuting Mount Sakurajima entirely. Wet weather forecast ought to have triggered a cancellation or at least a rescheduling (eg start later in the day) or the tour.
Good experience. Enjoyed the hot foot bath park, pretty cherry blossoms & views of the island & volcano.
