Ho Chi Minh - Nha Trang Sleeper Bus

It was a pleasant 8 hour bus ride from Nha Trang to HCM City. The bus staff will contact you on the day of departure to confirm the time and place of pick up from your hotel in Nha Trang to the Bus office. They will pick you up in a van together with all other guests departing on the same route to the office. Then, the bus will arrive at the office to fetch us to HCM city. The bus had two stops for break and a 30 minutes lunch. In between, they stopped at Phan Tiet to put passengers down, and fetch new passengers to HCM city. We were the only passengers departing from Nha Trang to HCM city as all other passengers got down at Phan Tiet. They will put you down at a bus station which is 10KM away from HCM city centre. Then, they will transfer you to the city with a smaller bus together with the passengers departing to HCM city. I'm 6 foot 1, and most buses could not fit my legs. But, I can rest comfortably in this bus as can be seen from the photo. This is the best bus ride I took in VN.

I was a little worried when I was directed to a typical tourist bus at the meeting point, but then I changed to the original bus at the terminal, and there was no information about rest times so I just used the toilet and waited on the bus. There were more stops along the way than I expected, I think I got on and off about 10 times, and from the final stop we were taken to our respective hotels in a minibus, so I thought it would be fine on the way back.

Not bad. Just 30 minutes walk from my hotel. Reached Nam Hai limousine company 30 minutes before departure. Got the printed ticket and bus left around 10.30pm. Bus stopped at a few stops and around 6am. My trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang was completed.

I chose this three-row bus because I was traveling during the day, and I could relax in a completely private space by closing the curtains. I recommend the two-row sleeper bus for overnight travel, but the three-row bus was comfortable enough during the day. The places we stopped at along the way also had delicious food.

Excellent sleeper bus. Everything inside is new and clean. There was enough space. I am 165 cm tall. There was still about 10 cm of free space above my head, but my feet did not reach the end of the niche under the monitor. The seats in the middle row B seemed more spacious to me. A quick trip. Picked up from a hotel in Nha Trang, got to Pham Ngu Lao in Saigon. It turned out cheaper with all the services than just buying a ticket on the 12th.

I booked a sleeping bus from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City. A day after booking, I received a KakaoTalk message from the local company confirming the booking. On the day of the reservation, I exchanged messages on KakaoTalk about the pick-up location and time. Actually, they said they would come 30 minutes earlier than the original pick-up time, which messed up my schedule a bit. I recommend giving yourself about 30 minutes of leeway! Anyway, I was waiting at the pick-up location, and then another problem arose. They said they had a flat tire and would call a taxi. I was worried it might be a scam or something strange, but I arrived safely at the local bus station by taxi. (After arriving, the taxi driver asked us for money, but when I told them on KakaoTalk that we had arrived and they were asking us to pay, someone from the office came out and paid! Never pay, the company is supposed to pay! Actually, there's no problem if you take the pick-up vehicle from the start...) + The road to the local bus station was very scary, and I crossed a bridge and thought I was being sold somewhere... lol. Anyway, I think they handled the situation well. Then, when you go to the office, they check the name of the person who made the reservation and give you a ticket? It's funny because they don't check the reservation voucher here. The driver loaded all the luggage for me. I think Vietnamese people are generally friendly. I showed the ticket to the driver at the departure time and boarded the bus! You have to take off your shoes when boarding and there is a bag provided to put your shoes in! The space where you can lie down is wider and cleaner than I thought, so I was satisfied! We also stopped at a rest area in the middle, but I recommend going to the bathroom before boarding. I took the 10 PM bus and it took 7-8 hours to get to Ho Chi Minh City. I was quite satisfied and didn't have any major inconveniences. I would use it again next time I go from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang!

For me it was a great experience. The staffs were lovely, the car was clean, and they answered all my questions. Shotterbus picked me up in front of my Nha Trang hotel. They confirmed the exact time. Then the bus took me to the bus station to wait for the departure time from Nha Trang. I got on the bus at 08.30pm and arrived in Ho Chi Minh City around 05.30am. The bus stopped at Ho Chi Minh City bus station. I highly recommend it.
