Reviews
It’s so fun. Even if you don’t have any driving experience, don’t be afraid. There are nice and experienced instructors who can teach you and drive with you. Although bamboo rafting is not very exciting, you can appreciate the rainforest ecological environment along the way. Lunch is also quite delicious, and the accompanying fruits and desserts are also delicious.
Although the drive was long (~2hrs), the trip was worth it. ATV was good and the bamboo rafting was totally great. The homecook food was delicious, we informed before going on our dietry needs and they were accomodating.
I chose this tour because of its rich itinerary. I wanted to try ATV and bamboo rafting, and it turns out they are in the same place. The pickup was very punctual, in a spacious and comfortable van, but the journey wasn't actually that long. As a private tour, there were no other tour members, but the driver was only responsible for transportation because he doesn't speak English, so there was no tour guide service. The ATV shop seriously led the way and it was very safe to circle in the forest. It's also easy for beginners to get the hang of it. The bamboo rafts are for two people per boat. You only need to share a car when transferring to the upper reaches. Actually, the private tour is just transportation to and from the hotel in one vehicle; it's actually not necessary. This tour fee is slightly expensive.
Good to know
- The arrival back at your hotel might differ and can be 1 hour earlier or later, depending on how much time spent at the activities. It is not a 100% fixed schedule.
- You might get wet and dirty during the rafting and ATV. There is a shower room available for you to refresh after this.
- About 1-3 persons can fit on 1 raft. In dry season there might be less water and the bamboo rafting might be less smooth than usual.
- The driver of the private car speaks a little bit of English, just enough to communicate during the transport.
- You can spend as long as you want in the turtle conservation center, where it is nice to learn about the conservation by the Royal Thai Navy.
- Minimum age to drive the ATV yourself is 9 years old. From 9-15 years old a guide will sit at the back to guarantee safety.
- If younger than 9, the person can sit at the back of an adult driving the ATV. (1 child per adult)
