Reviews summaryA visit to Bruges and Ghent is a definite must, and even better when paired up in the same visit. The historical significance of both cities and their flavours were brought out by intentionally visiting Bruges in the day and Ghent at night. Our guide Stefan was incredibly knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour, which really added so much more to the tour. It certainly made the long day seem so much shorter! The use of individual radios during throughout tour definitely engaged it's participants as we were able to listen to Stefan's rich commentary as we walked And of course, it helped us to stay together as a group and not get lost! Lots of walking, so be prepared for it (comfortable walking shoes, travel light, etc) and manage energy levels throughout the day, especially if walking with kids (like we did).
I joined the English tour. Because I wasn't good at English, I told the guide, "I want to confirm important information directly, such as the reassembly time and place after the tour." Then, they gave me the guide's contact information via a chat app (WhatsApp) and told me to contact them anytime if I had any problems. Also, they explained the reassembly time and place slowly and repeatedly during the general explanation, so even I could understand it, but after everyone dispersed, they checked my understanding every time. The explanations during the city walk can be heard through a transceiver, so it's not a problem even if you walk behind. However, the English was difficult for me, so I didn't understand much. Since we broke up after touring the city's symbols with the guide, there was plenty of free time. I'm glad I joined this tour!
A very nice trip! Guide Albert is very friendly and knowledgeable, Bruges is a really beautiful city. Highly recommended! Boat trip costs extra €15 for adult, €9 for children and cash only. The seating arrangement could be improved.
The arrangement is friendly and tightly,it is realy worth to visit 2 historic cities in one day. The guide has abondant knowledge in history and religion.
Great tour of the two beautiful cities in Belgium! Ideal for those who wanna see the main attractions and don’t have a lot of time (ie. if you visit Belgium for a weekend)… The tour guide Nico was really knowledgeable about the facts and interesting pieces of information about the places and I got to learn more about the country of Belgium in just one day. Would love to have more free time to just chill in Bruges or Ghent though as time was very limited but since it’s a day tour of two cities, it’s understandable that we need to move quickly.
A lot of walking. About 15,000 steps throughout the tour. The canal motor boat cruise along the river was good and the driver of the boat shared about the places we cruised by.
Very relaxed itinerary with plenty of free time at each venue. The optional boat ride at Bruges is a must try! It was the highlight of the tour for us. Costed an additional EUR15 but it's so worth it. All went well, one less star given because the tour guide spoke in both English and French so sometimes we could not understand what he was saying when he switched between both languages. Otherwise everything else was perfect.
The tour operator adhered to pickup and return schedules. Driver was good, tour guide Julia was amazing and helpful, and deserves special mention. As a solo female traveller from the Philippines, I felt safe all throughout the tour even when I didn't know anyone on the bus. Booking the tour was also a breeze. Overall, excellent value for money and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Tour was well organised. Group is big though…almost 50 pax on a big bus. Guide gave interesting historical insights of in both English and French both on the bus and on the walking tour. Audio device was also provided for ease of listening to the guide. Ghent and Bruges are lovely towns with beautiful architectures, although Bruges did feel more touristy.
The Venice of the North is indeed well-deserved. The fairy tale-like ancient city has beautiful houses and rivers, and the cruise fee (15 euros) is also very affordable. And the night view of Ghent is something you can’t miss!
