Away from the city proper and into the more rural areas lie the Bishnoi Villages, where you'll be able to get a true glimpse into the life within tribal Indian villages. Your journey to the villages begins with a convenient pick up from your hotel, and you'll be transported to the Bishnoi Villages themselves. These array of villages are an authentic look into village tribal life, and detached from the city sprawl that you may have been accustomed to. The first stop, Shepherds Village, is aptly named as it is home to many village shepherds. You will be able to have a look at how they manage and tend to their flocks through the day, as well as the different animals they care for, from goats to camels and more. In Gudha Village, you will be able to have a look at the wilder side of life: numerous species of wild animals can be found in their natural habitat around Guda Bishnoi Lake. There will be migratory birds, antelopes, cranes, blackbucks and more. After this, it's time to head to Salawas Village, also known as the Weavers Village, where you will enjoy a rare glimpse into the most traditional methods of weaving textiles, passed down from generation to generation of weavers within the village. In the Potter's Village, you can watch the local potters carefully shaping and crafting clay with their hands, creating beautiful pots that will be sold elsewhere. In fact, you can try your hand in the art for yourself! Your safari will be capped off with a traditional lunch or dinner with one of the local families. Not only will you be able to hear stories and anecdotes about their daily lives, but you'll also enjoy the type of food commonly eaten by the people of this region. As you head back for your hotel at the end of the tour, you'll carry with you a wealth of knowledge about Indian tribal life.
