Take a break from the stresses of the city life and explore the less-developed side of the Philippines with a visit to Mount Daraitan in Rizal. Renowned as an ideal location for a variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, spelunking, and camping, it's no surprise that Mount Daraitan draws in both tourists and locals alike. The fun begins when you meet up with your guide and group at McDonald's El Pueblo in Ortigas, before you hop inside an air-conditioned vehicle and make your way to the jump off point. Once you arrive, you'll go through a brief orientation at the Barangay Hall, then do some last minute packing as you wait for your guide to start the climb. As you make your way up, spot the mountain's gems, like the lush forests teeming wildlife, concealed forest trails, and even some caves every now and then. When you reach the summit, you'll be greeted by the spectacular sight of the Sierra Madre mountain range. Rest and recharge for an hour as you enjoy an early lunch, at your own expense, all while taking in the unforgettable view from the top of the mountain. On your way down, visit Tinipak River, a pristine body of water surrounded by large marble rocks. You can take a dip in the river if you wish to cool off, before you trek back to the Barangay Hall to wash up. As soon as the group is all ready to go, you'll hop back inside the vehicle and get dropped off back to McDonald's El Pueblo.
