Reviews
Walking Tour Review: Holocaust, Anne Frank, and Amsterdam’s Nazi History I recently participated in a 2-hour walking tour focusing on the Holocaust, Anne Frank, and the Nazi history of Amsterdam, and it was a profoundly moving experience. Our guide, James, was exceptional—he was not only informative but also incredibly personable and a fantastic storyteller. As we strolled through the neighborhood, James shared captivating stories and insights that brought history to life, making the somber subject matter accessible and engaging. His depth of knowledge and sensitivity in discussing such a heavy topic was impressive. This tour was not only interesting but also worth every penny. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of Amsterdam’s history while exploring its beautiful streets.
Our guide Mr James is very knowledgeable. He brought us around the Jewish quarter. Told us stories that we won't have known walking by. Gave us recommendations on where to visit to know more. I'd recommend joining during the beginning of the trip in Amsterdam to have time to learn more about the area. I've joined during the last day of my trip and have passed by some of the places many times but never knew it's meaning and have no time to visit the places recommended. A lot of walking, wear comfortable shoes and check carefully where the meet up point is as we went to the wrong place initially and almost followed the wrong group.
the best tour in my Amsterdam trip. very good tour guide. he share a lot of touching and sad stories. learned a lot of the Jewish history, nice walking experience with stories…
Great experience! our guide James was outstanding and took us around explaining the Jewish history in Amsterdam. Highly recommended!
the tour guide Rafael is a great tour guide 👌🏼I have another booking again im lookinh forward to it since I had a good experience with this tour
This time I signed up for an English-language tour of the culture and history of the Jewish Quarter. The tour guide was very humorous and introduced in detail. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time in the end and didn’t visit the Anne Frank House.
Aaron was very knowledgeable guide. i liked that he asked us if we want to go to thw wc prior the walking tour. ahaha.. it rained and thankfully, a kind couple shared one of their two umbrellas with me
Very good tour guide! I was completely intoxicated by the immersive experience, and the tour guide also told the history very well. Definitely will recommend this one to everyone who wants to know more about history! Tip: This tour is mostly about overall Jewish and Nazi history, with less about Anne Frank. But I think this will help me know more unknown stories. Moreover, the tour guide also made me know many things about life that I usually ignore but are also related to history.
This tour does not allow you to enter the Anne Frank House, and there is no ticket. However, the walking tour is very rewarding. I realized that there are so many historical sites in Amsterdam, which are scattered in the streets and alleys and nearby buildings. The traces of history will not disappear, the tour guide introduced it in detail
the tour guide is super nice and good at telling stories. i would have missed so many details in the city if I didn't join this tour. I'd say this is more like a tour about WWII with some details about Anne Frank then a tour in the Anne Frank House, just be aware the ticket to Anne Frank House is not included in the package.
