Cherry Lyn 18 Feb 2019Honestly, I went there for the pandas and there were only 2. They were so cute it's just sad that we cannot interact with them just like in Japan. The snow dome was interesting however you have to pay 150/pax and you can't bring your camera inside so you have to pay for the photoshoot(for each photo). Its a huge zoo so if you want to see all the animals, I'll recommend you to rent a golfcart but heads up it is 350 per hour since you have to wait around 20 - 30 minutes which will consume a lot of your time if you dont wanna spend your whole day in the zoo. Overall experience is okay. -

Oleg 4 Feb 2019It's really big and interesting place: plants, animals, marine life etc. On the top is great view on the city. I advise to visit this zoo with children or if you lake to relax in this way. Only one caveat - you should to go up mostly all time but do it all 3,7 km of zoo path is hard, so use tram-bus, it cost few but it needed. -

Ekaterina 2 Feb 2019first, i love chiang mai zoo. it is my third time i visited it. it is huge and like a true jungle. BUT this visiting i saw that many animals are absent, many aviaries are under construction, closed or in bad condition. no show with sea animals. monorail has not been working for a long time. aquarium inside is in terrible decorations (however i came to watch the fish, not decoration, so it was very exiting). i hope government or someone else will pay attention to this really very important project for the city. -

Huyen Anh 1 Feb 2019The landscape in the zoo itself is pretty but the organization of the zoo is not at all good. Enclosures for different species of animals are unnecessarily far from each other, which requires taking the minibus to move. However, the bus stops are not very well marked, and there is only one bus every 20 min while the places are limited and when there is a school group that visits the zoo, it already takes all places. Finally, we had to walk (the ticket for the bus was useless), and so we could only do half of the zoo because it's big. Then some enclosures are empty, lots of shows are closed. The panda house is not worth buying a ticket apart: two unfortunate pandas locked in a place not at all pretty and that does not look like their natural environment. The aquarium is nothing special either. And the whole zoo gives the impression of being a tourist-trap: in front of each enclosure, they sell animal feed so that tourists can buy it, while we do not know if it's good for health animals. The restaurants, cafes, shops are everywhere in the zoo, which ruins the beautiful landscape. We are quite disappointed with our experience here. -

Estelita 21 Jan 2019it's a nice size trip when coming down from Doi Suthep but if setting a day for Chiang Mai zoo i would say it's a waste of time. the zoo is old and averagely maintained. -

Sze Kong 13 Jan 2019Located near the hills, hence expect to do a lot of walking uphill. Definitely will help to burn off those calories. The Zoo is great, but the aquarium was a bit of a letdown and so was the panda house. Food and drinks can easily be purchased in the zoo. Be prepared to spend a few hours. Very crowded on weekends. -
